Longtail Keywords and Market Samurai?

I don't have MS, but you could start by putting in a generic (one or two words phases ) keyword and see what it will give you.

Then go from there.

Don't forget MS displays in daily searches so you need to multiply the searches by 30 to get a true monthly search figure.

50 daily searches = 1500 a month so not a bad figure to start with and < 30,000 competing pages is great.

Also once you have put in your keywords you can tell MS before you click generate keywords what length of keyword to return with (top right of the screen) min 1-10 max 10 both are drop down menu's and it will do the leg work for you.

Also if that doesn't make total sense to you there are 4 * 5 min videos you can watch where it is fully explained.

I don't know about Market Samurai, but I HEAVILY use
the following tools, in combination, to find GREAT long
tail keywords:

- Nichebot
- KeywordDiscovery (within Nichebot)
- Wordtracker (within Nichebot)
- Keyword Results Analyzer

Lol I really should be an affiliate of market samurai as all I do is rave about it!

MS really is good!! I normally target any keyword that is under 50K competing pages and has around 40K of searches a month however I have hit some pretty high searched for terms.

Use MS to find that perfect domain name also! It makes SEO that little biut easier!

When I'm generating keyword lists for article titles, here's what I do..

First, using the keyword generator, I select both keyword source options - Google's Keyword Synonym Tool and Google's Search-Based Keyword Tool.



This gives me up to 1,000 keywords (remember - Market Samurai will ignore keywords with "No Data" because these give you no search engine benefit - and it will avoid irrelevant keywords, only giving you the keywords that Google thinks are highly relevant.)

Next, I'll remove any keywords that have low traffic levels..

I'll set an SEOT filter of 80 hits per day (or a Searches filter of 200 searchers per day) and a PBR filter of 15% (which gets rid of the keywords in weird word orders)



I'm left with just high-traffic keywords.

Note: If you're in a low-traffic niche, you might pick a lower filter level than SEOT 80 / Searches 200 (keep PBR at 15% though). I like SEOT levels of >80 because I don't like spending time on things that don't give me a good reward.

So, now that we have high traffic keywords - it's time to get rid of the high competition keywords among them.

To do this, I now click the SEO Competition (SEOC) tickbox, set a filter of 100,000, and hit "Analyze Keywords"



(If you set an SEOC filter of 30,000 - or even less - you will usually see your articles rank higher, faster)

The end result is a neat little list of low hanging keywords...
