Help with outlook & vista

Does anyone know an easy way to get your emails & file folders transfered from one pc to another?

My old PC hard drive (40 gig) was getting so full, it was as slow as dail up (almost), I have always used outlook express, and made a new folder for whatever affilate or website or newsletter I got info from , I've been doing more & more IM, so broke down and bought a new PC, as all do now it has vista, but plenty hard drive (750 gig) & fast as hell, But how can I get my emails & folders transfered to the new pc?

I know that is why a lot of IM'rs use web based emails like gmail ect., and some one is going to suggest that to me...... I have started to do that, but I still have a lot of stuff I would like to switch from old to new outlook.
No problem importing contacts, got that done, but messages & folders can't figure out.
Can it be done or am I SOL

    Maybe through the archive mail settings and create an archive folder put it on a USB stick and transfer it then you should be able to reload them on the new pc.

    Also should be able to do the same with any contacts...
