Need advice on what to do

I have an existing Prestashop site with 100K Visitors/150K Sessions/1MM Pageviews. I'm generating a pretty good gross, but I'm finding that the remaining gross margin is not enough to warrant the overhead, staff, etc. for a commercial location. Plus, the day-to-day operations don't allow time for the SEO, blogging, social media etc. that I know is essential to building the traffic and sales volume.

I'm thinking of converting the site to an Amazon affiliate store, reducing the overhead by going back to my basement and pajamas, and just concentrating on the marketing. My suppliers will drop-ship as well, so I can still accept phone orders for items in the niche that Amazon doesn't sell.

I'd welcome some comments and suggestions on this plan.

Thanks in advance.

That day will not happen if you use your money earning from your sites to do these works SEO, blogging, social media etc..for you.

If your site is earning and growing, i don't think there is any reason to move to a new method that it's more risks.

I'm confused, why can't you put the time/money into SEO, blogging, social media, etc?

It sounds to me like you don't want to put in the work or money to allow this site to work.

Well, you have to ask yourself... is it really worth it?

All businesses go through that period of growth in which they spend more than they make. If it's a site with potential.... it is your choice whether to keep at it and watch it be fruitful one day, or close it down if you feel it's not worth it.

Nobody is going to do the work for you, or be your biggest cheerleader, other than yourself.

  • Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

I'm not afraid to do the SEO/Blog/SMM work, in fact it's the part of the job I'd like to do more of. The issue is really resources and time. My thought was that if I offloaded some or all of the operational aspect and some of the overhead, the resources and time will be there to concentrate on the marketing.

Look for a way to scale your business, find a way to get more traffic for a cheaper price then you will make more money. You can advertise in newspapers for example and get dirt cheap but laser targeted traffic from it. I really hope this wil help you out
