Sell a new product with no feedback

Hi there,

I have a product that I want to sell online; it's a piece of high-end jewelry. If I am able to sell it for the kind of price that I would like (to make a decent profit) then I am happy to invest in a nice website and produce more of the same jewelry. But before I do that, I want to try and sell on a website like Etsy (or possibly eBay).

My problem is, that it seems like people will be reluctant to buy expensive jewelry from a new user with zero feedback!

I'm sure this has been a problem before for people wishing to sell a new product. Are there any smart ways around this?

Thanks in advance of any replies!

    Are you a jeweller?

Did you make the jewellery or just reselling?

Reminds me a bit about the birth of a jewellery chain in Australia here the owner was not a jeweller - Michael Hill - maybe correct me if I'm wrong - but I heard when he started he changed his name by deed poll to "Michael Hill Jeweller"

Investment in anything that is going to give a return is the step that has to be taken.

Recently I saw a new brand "Emma & Roe" to counter the Pandora trend.

Guess what it is really "Emma & Roe" by Michael Hill Jeweller.

If the designs are your originals then go out an establish a name for yourself.

If you are just reselling because there is high commission or perceived higher returns on a generic design then think again.

    Best regards,

    Ozi
