I am looking at starting a Digital Product where I show others how to make money self publishing, I have made good money doing this. I am wondering if it is better to create a blog or youtube channel to drive traffic. I was thinking of first creating lots of free great content and following, then funneling people through a mailing list free product (squeeze page) then offer. What is better a good youtube channel or a good blog?

    You may want to do both. Set up the youtube channel and use it to drive traffic to your blog.

    Yes, both ways will give you the opportunity to get more eye balls on your offer. I would explore the two channels.

    I would set both up but I would focus on building your traffic source primarily first which is YouTube. By building your YouTube channel up, you're also building up your blog because you can direct your YouTube traffic there. It's a win-win by doing it this way.

    it really depends on your personality. Writing can make you just as much money as video blogging. It's your strategy in conveying your brand that ultimately matters more than what platform you choose to promote yourself in. What do I do? I do youtube vlogging/tutorial videos on programming. That's my niche. For my niche, it's way easier to do videos with voiceovers because I feel like I can make a better connection with the people watching. I hope whichever media you choose, you become affluent. Best of luck!

    IMO - You should do both.
    Setup a blog and use youtube to help drive traffic to it. (IMO)

    For me ,Iam leaning more towards YT these days. Alhough I do blogging and still have quite a number of them.

    And as I say when I go to Mcdonalds drive-thru ( as others have said already) you cannot go wrong with a combo

    Do both. Youtube make take longer to build a following, but when you do it is worth it. Blog can get traffic from youtube, and vice versa. You can embed youtube videos on your blog for added views as well, and it adds content to your blog.

    I would recommend start both. Especially start the blog to get initial search engine recognition to start ranking up. Start the channel and start uploading regularly. As far as growth it may be easier to focus on one first, but I recommend start both.

    I personally use my YouTube channel to drive traffic to the relevant articles on my Blog and I also embed the video that drove them there into the actual article.

    I also ensure that the same tags I use in my videos to rank them are also present as relevant tags in the taxonomy of my blog article to assist in the rankings.

    I would definitely do both.

    Some people use Youtube and while others like blogs, so this way you will grab people from both places.

    You need to do both! Youtube is one of the best way to get leads as billions of persons are on there daily. You can then redirect them to your blog where you can capture leads and promote your products to them.

      Neither.

      Build an email list first, and only then think about a blog and Youtube.. as a means of driving traffic to your list, because collecting leads should be your priority (if you plan on selling or promoting something).

    I'd try YouTube first.

    Video format is a fantastic way to show off your riches that you have earned from your work, just look at Tai Lopez for inspiration.

    It all depends on what kind of content are you creating.

    Both platforms have very different sets of people.

    Both Platforms make you money. Content is the key. If your content is good and original you will for sure make money.
