Can I make money by building an email list and sales funnel in a niche that is not my passion?

Hey warriors,
I hope you all are doing great.

I have very important question, the answer will help me a lot in my online career. your help will be much appreciated.

I know you are all busy so I will get straight into it.

Can I make money by building an email list and sales funnel in a niche that is not my passion?

I'm asking as my passion and the information that I know doesn't provide the end results. I love online marketing and making money online, but I have never done it consistently to build email list & sales funnel around it.

So I was thinking to build a sales funnel NOT around my passion, make money out of it, then after that I can build a list around online marketing and build a real relation with my subscribers.

I always hear that I need to build a relation with my list so they buy my recommended product.

Can I do this without being personal? or without being passionate about the niche?

Lets say I wanna build a funnel around weightloss, I mean weightloss is not my passion, I'm not even overweight, but if I can provide a real value in my follow up emails can I still build a relation with my list? would they still buy from me?

Do they need to see my face or know me personally to buy from me?

I'm asking to see if anyone else has done it before and make money out of it.

My questions in simple words: Have you ever created a sales funnel that is not around your passion and made money out of it.

I hope my question is clear. If I can get an answer it will really help me a lot.

Thank you so much

Yes, lots of marketers make money in niches where they have no passion.

Is it the best situation? Not always. Sometimes, when profits don't pan out quickly, you have to stick to what you're doing even when you're tempted to do something else. Having passion for the niche usually means you'll stay engaged and interested longer than you would otherwise.

But I know of several friends that are making money in niches where their only concern is being there to make money - not necessarily because they have an interest in the niche personally.

Have a passion for the niche and getting excited about it usually shows in your personal communications and enthusiasm so that is something you could work toward if you don't have it now. Once you start making money in the niche you will be more excited about it.

I monetize data using PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. I've been doing it for over 16 years. However, I don't have a passion for any of the offers that I promote. My passion simply lies in the marketing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, I really appreciate that.

With all respect to what you are doing but I think what I'm trying to do is a bit different. Sending traffic to PPL offers is a bit different "I think" than building an email list and promote new offers over and over to the same list. I think I need to have any kind of relation to make them feel good about buying my recommended offers.

Correct me if I'm wrong please. But In your case, if the campaign dies, you need to create new campaign, optimize it, till it's profitable. is that right?

I don't want to make money from my traffic only once, and if the campaign dies I'm left with no assets at all. Thats why I'm trying to build an email list and make my money with my follow up or broadcasts emails.

I hope my point is clear.

      Thank you so much again.

    yes,

I'm in the baby shower niche. Originally I had no passion for it.

    but i do now.....

why? because Ive helped so many hosts and expecting moms put on the events they wanted from the comfort of my living room (or starbucks).

you CAN learn to love something that you had no interest in...

just like you can learn to hate something you used to enjoy,.

      Hi aizaku,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.

      I have one question please.

How do you go around building a relation with your list if you are not passionate about it? how can you be personal with your list if they don't know who is behind this site that is recommending this product?

Would someone buy from an email he/she receives from unknown source?

I would really appreciate your answer on my question.

      Thank you

Well i wasn't at first. but like i said.i learned to enjoy the process of helping folks get the games and diaper cakes they wanted.

also surveying my list (google forms) helped me tremendously to find ways to service them

I used to use a pseudonym but i dont anymore. I straight up tell them about me and my story in my "about me" page.

This was a game changer for me.

I can't speak on that.. all of my leads know that I'm emailing them about baby showers and baby shower products.

      Hi ChrisBa,
      Thanks for your answer man.

      I have a question please

How do you make your list buy your affiliate product if you don't love the product? or if you don't have any kind of relation with them.

Is it a matter of writing a sales letter email, send it and rely on the size of the list to make conversions?

      Thanks again mate.

Passion can be outsourced. I market very successfully in dozens of niches for which I have no passion, interest nor much expertise.

Being passionate about your products or niche may actually be detrimental as it often clouds judgement or critical decisions.

Frank I don't think that's a funny question. To answer this person's question, you can literally outsource passion to someone who is "passionate" about the niche you want your funnel built in and is "willing" to do the work for you at a particular price.

For instance, my team build really high converting funnels in different niche markets, and I assign each individual funnel development to different funnel experts based on the niche they're most experienced in, and passionate about.

That's a simple way to explain outsourcing of passion.

          Hope this helps.

Sorry, Ken. Nice try, but that's totally ridiculous.

The only thing you are 'outsourcing' is a fairly universal desire to make money. I guess you can call that passion, but you'll never get me to agree with the concept as you're presenting it. That's cute, but not much more.

If you believe what you are saying, you and I have a very different opinion of what passion is. True passion can't be transferred. That's not to say that others can't 'develop' their own passion for something that you may be passionate about - but you still didn't transfer yours. :-)

My marketing strategy has always been the calculated exploitation of the passion in other people, as alluded to by Ken above.

I surround myself with people of relevant passion, talent, and expertise to tap into the emotional drivers within some of the most hotly competitive markets.

If any particular niche or product is not producing up to my expectations, there is no problem for me to simply unceremoniously dump it for another.

I never said that I was personally "passionate" about anything regarding specific niches for marketing.

In my not so humble opinion, basing decisions on passion is piss-poor advice, and more often than not is doomed to failure.

This is a multi-billion dollar a year industry, and is expected to quadruple over the next 5 years. You don't need to have a passion for shit to get a nice piece of this pie.

Yes, you can always do that...

But personally, I'd stay away from health niche if I'll be picking a niche that I'm not passionate about. That's so risky, in my opinion.

But you can always enter a niche you don't love. There are always solutions, one is outsourcing.

    Goodluck!

It really depends on your personality type.

If you're the type of person that gets bored or distracted easily I would stick with your passion.

Some are more analytical and don't really care.

To me, the whole idea of getting out of the rat race is to do something you love.

Or you should love some aspect of it. As others mentioned, it could just be the marketing itself.

Ike, it sounds like your "passion" was helping your chosen audience. While you may not have had much interest in baby showers, you did have an interest in the hosts' success at same.

Which is one good way of succeeding even if you have little interest in the exact niche itself.

Amen to that. I've been an avid angler for over five decades. Several times have I tried to build a business around that passion. Just as many times, I've dropped the project. Instead of being a refuge from work, each trip came with pressure to contribute something to the business. Fishing wasn't fun; it was work.

Yet there's fishing related businesses all over the world. Odds are some of those business owners are happy.

I watched a video the other day about a guy that was a fishing guide and would fly his clients into remote areas of Canada with a seaplane. No doubt it would be work but it looked like an interesting career.

        Very true.

And I haven't locked the door on a fishing related business. Just that I personally haven't found the fishing business that allows me to continue enjoying my lifelong passion.
