Best way to promote Kindle ebooks?

I have a fitness book, "How to Lose 10 Pounds in 30 Days". It's on sale at Amazon for $2.99.

Here's what I've done so far:
  • The book is well written and something I care about and research all the time, in fact i took a personal trainer course and got certified. So it's not a scammy, quickly written by someone in the Philipines for five bucks.

I am also a trained graphic designer so i designed the cover and I think it looks better than many of my competition.

Have website/blog that I've had for years. In fact, the book came from the site. If I can actually make a penny off it, I'll also convert the "Gain 10 Pounds" part of the website to an ebook.

Added a Free "Trial Version" of the book with of course a page that sells the paid book, a link to the website, a link to a fun quiz on the website"

Website has a popup with a different free book "20 things you need to quit doing now!" for opting in to my list. Paid book also has an ad with link to this LP.

The above mentioned 20 Things book is also on Amazon so that I now have 3 books under my Author Page. It sells on Amazon for .99.

I've paid for people to download my book during the 5 day free promo that Amazon allows so they can leave reviews. First one was from Upwork. F*ing st*pid. All reviews are written in terrible grammar, mistakes, obvious copies from other books. I've since hired a new one that was supposed to be better but still sucks. Obvious that it's a bunch of foreigners writing bogus reviews. I can't imagine anyone reading them and thinking they're legit.

I have a very small Twitter act (hard to get followers) and i promote there and I've reached out to some people there. Two people helped out and RT their followers. Not many buys.

How would you promote this?? What am I doing wrong?

Create a Facebook Group on weight loss, run ads to the group, grow the group, and then give people tips from the book and a link to buy the book. Be helpful and courteous, and every day make a post, and comment on a post or two when available. Boom, book sales for miles!

Good luck, it's the method I used to sell 100k books in two years on Amazon in 2012 and 2013.

Thanks. I was all, "That sounds like a great idea!" So I went to FB to make a group since I know I have a few Pages that I've tried before and it turns out I actually already made a group way back in April 2016 when I launched the book. Guess I have to constantly upload videos, tips, and sh!t to make it popular, right?

    Hi AB,

Doing the 5 day free giveaway helps a ton, and I see you have that covered.

Promoting other bloggers and authors from the fitness niche through your newsletter, social media and your blog is an easy way to promote your network, and, to grow your network. Then these friends will promote your eBook to their growing followings, and those sales will grow.

You just need Youtube and Facebook. Turn your ebook into a video-book. Share your free stuff on both media. Collect your list and bring them to your FB group. Good luck!

Hang out in Kindle forums & Diet and Exercise/fitness forums with a link to your book for sale in your signature (if it's allowed, gotta play by the rules.)

A targeted Facebook advertising campaign could also help for you - but remember to split test between at least 2 or 3 Ads to see what works best.

It would also be worth getting video reviews, but until your sales rise I would make an introduction video of you talking about your product and share that to your social media feeds.

    - Why have you written this Ebook?
    - What benefits does it give the reader OVER other similar ebooks?
    - What is your experience in the fitness industry?
    - What makes this book their solution?

EDIT: Also look into influencer marketing - there's bound to be people out there who review fitness books and courses and who run a blog on doing so, reach out to them for exposure to new audiences.

    Hi:

Here on warrior forum there is a course on how to promote your book using amazon advertising
    .
Shelly Hitz sent me this email back in November 2016 that said "
A week ago, I purchased his low-cost case study and tutorial and followed his steps exactly.

The course creator /Author is Richard Lowe.

Shelly Hitz who is a good author and ethical promoter recommends this low cost course. I believe it's about $17.50 or so here on Warrior Forum.

She said she spent $5 on advertising and made back $35 in book sales.

Check it out and see if it's something that you want to add to your war chest.

It may boost your sales on Amaazon without having to leave the platform. However, you should promote on several other platforms as mentioned above-youtube, facebook and other platforms also.

    Good luck.

One way you can market this book, is by writing more books that compliment it. Even in nonfiction, you can create a book series. Do not depend on one e-book to make bunch of sales. It is better to spread that leverage over several e-books.

You're in a saturated market. If you cannot send your own followers to the book, it won't sell very good. You might try ppc, but probably not worth it. I have 25 books on Amazon.

The problem with Facebook is that they hate weightloss ads. I've been rejected many times. I recently tried to promote a post with the Boost Post ad and it got rejected. They don't even say why.

Have you tried using AMS? (Amazon's advertising service) You need eyes on your books. The Kindle market is very competitive these days.

I get quite good results with product advertising and a click rate of 0.06.

Another release is always good for visibility. You really need to be releasing regularly.

Hmm, yeah I looked into it. I was looking at the two types where you advertise on a search term or on a competitor's product(s). Not sure which is best for mine, I'm thinking the latter.

I have three books under my author; The main How To Lose book, the Free Trial of that, and another quick read list of 20 things to stop doing for 99.

I just don't want to spend the time to make the other book "How to GAIN 10 pounds" if I've made virtually nothing from the first book because they are very time consuming to make, nowutamean?
