Best Blog Theme for a Newbie Blogger (is it Thesis)?

What's your favorite blog theme? I have been hearing that Thesis is the Best! The price is a little out of my range for just starting out. Anyone have any thoughts (for, against or other themes).

Thanks

Thesis is excellent. It does have a learning curve if you are used to using Wordpress by itself. I started with Thesis and didn't realize how different it was until I helped a friend who didn't have it. I was lost LOL

If you get it, download the plugin openhooks. It makes life easier as well.

If you decide to get it and need help with it, pm me. I would be glad to assist you.

Thesis is great and I highly recommend it however it will definitely be a learning curve to get used to. I wouldn't recommend it to a wordpress Newbie unless you are quick to learn or have someone more experienceed helping you. There are a ton of great themes that aren't too pricey over at themeforest.net and occasionally you find some real gems in WordPress' own theme collection.

Thesis is great, but I would only recommend it for beginners if you're absolutely certain you're in this for the long haul. It costs a bit and it does come with a learning curve.

However, if you are in it for the long haul then I'd definitely go for Thesis - and get the Developer's version because all your future blogs can be based on Thesis, and they can all be made to look completely different.

There are enough SEO features to enable you to drop some plugins - always a good thing.

Ive written a review of Thesis here:

And if you have any questions please let me know,

    Cheers,

    Martin.

    I agree with the comments.

Thesis is a good theme. Revolution also have quality themes (although it seems EVERYONE is using them to flip sites these days!).

WooThemes have some good ones too. But if you're just starting out, inserting custom fields for images to show etc can be tricky and tiresome.

I've purchased Diana's theme which is really flexible and might suit you as many professional paid themes don't allow for too many changes. It's a WSO here - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...iors-only.html

Other than that, try a nice looking free one until you get more used to using Wordpress. Then just go for it!

    All the best
