How would you approach this?

Hi,
I have what I believe is a great slogan idea for a very well known company(Coca-Cola). I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't thought of it themselves. Anyway, how would you go about approaching them? I'm worried they'll want to hear what it is before they tell me anything. And then, a few months from now, I'll start seeing commercials from them using it. And I'll be like, "wait a min.. what about me? I thought of the idea, don't I get anything!?"

So I don't want to blow this, need to handle it correctly from the start. Any useful advice is greatly appreciated.

The idea that a multi billion dollar international company is going to let a random person decide their next marketing slogan is basically unthinkable.

The Coca-Cola Company appreciates receiving your suggestions. We have a policy that prevents us from considering ideas related to advertising, promotions ...

Thank you. This is very much appreciated. It says in the terms and conditions,

"The Coca-Cola Company and its subsidiaries and affiliates ('Company') have no desire to appropriate unfairly the unprotected ideas or suggestions of others. Therefore, the Company prefers to consider ideas already protected by you through a patent, patent application, a trademark registration, or a copyright registration, as may be applicable. If applications or registrations for patents, trademarks or copyrights exist or have been filed, you should submit a list of all such applications and registrations including the serial number, the date of application or registration, the date of publication, and a copy of the certificate of issuance, if applicable."

That's a lot. I'll probably have to talk to a professional about exactly how to go about all that. Anyway, it's a start. Thanks again.

Its a start. Id get your "slogan" patient first then simply call or write and ask to speak with a senior advisor.

Correct if wrong if they are using it now maybe you missed the boat or opportunity to patent or copyright it I believe.

Yeah, worth a try anyway. Thank you.

@Virtualghost - To the best of my knowledge they're not already using it. I've never seen a commercial or anything with it. I believe that they haven't thought of it, which is surprising to me. That's why I'm seeing an opportunity here.
