New to marketing 1 week!

Ive just started out writing articles, i wrote 2 yesterday and 1 on ezine. It says it will take a week to publish unless i join. I don't want to join just yet because i feel my skills for article writing are probably poor compared to others on this site. Can anyone give me insiders on article writing or some great free websites to help me out? I've heard about key words and putting them in my article i somewhat understand but not really if anyone can elaborate a little more on that too it would be greatly appreciated. This site is a huge learning curve for me in the last 2 days, i recently just joined a website last week and it squeezed some cash out of me which gave me a lot of learning blocks and video that you all talk about. It shows what to do and basic how to do. But it does not give the skills on article writing to be at the top.

Thanks for your help guys i look up to you and i hope to make my first sale soon. Im getting a little discouraged.

    1. select a niche
    2. keyword research

Before you write you should know which specific keywords you are targeting. To find the right keywords you'll want to go to a free keyword tool and check the popularity for a phrase vs. the competition.

    3. Write the article - keeping in mind the keyword density. The percentage of times your keyword is seen will determine if ezine takes it. You will also want to be aware of placement of that keyword/phrase. IE it should show in the beginning, in the end, and sprinkled in the middle - number of times will depend on how long your article is.

Give your article a goal or purpose. Simple rule is it should be informative and possibly entertaining.

Make sure the article lives up to it's title or gives the reader what you offer it to give (what you suggest in the first paragraph).

Be sure to take full advantage of the resource box. You will be linking to your site or using a domain you own in the bottom. Be sure there is a call to action.

Don't get discouraged, just stay focused. Make your goal for the week to join ezine and submit an article. It is free to join - and worst case scenario? they will tell you to rewrite, that it is not approved. You can also submit it under a pen name so if down the road you are not happy you wrote it your name won't really be on it.

The only way to fail in this industry is if you give up. I failed time and time again before I had my huge success breakthrough. There were some pretty rough times but I stuck with it. You are only a week in good things take time to grow. Hang in there!

That's the main problem with newbies starting online. There are so many sites out there seducing them into believing they are going to start making a fortune immediately that it can come as a real shock when it doesn't happen.

Cottie, Gill gave you some good advice about writing articles, I'll put my 2cents worth in if I may.

Don't part with a lot of money trying to "grab" the dream. There is a goldmine in the Warriors just waiting to be tapped.

The only money I would suggest you spend at the moment is the $37 needed to join the Warrior forum

  • You just need to hang in there. The main thing is to stay focused and not get distracted with all the offers and e-mails you get from the Gurus. You can get stuck for weeks and even months just reading e-mails and watching videos and buying systems that promise to make you a fortune.

Just choos your road and stay on it.

Let your only regret be that you didn´t start sooner-Not that you didn´t start at all.

  • I second and third the others who said it takes time. If you are smart you can start making "second income"-type money after a few months, but count on not making a living for at least a year. You might get lucky and hit it out of the park right out of the gate, but generally it takes time and a lot of work.

So instead of creating a website for all the ads i want to promote and write articles for, i should pick 5 and write for free and just use the hop link or link on the affiliates site in my article?

For ezine you are not allowed to use a hop link or direct affiliate link.

For those articles you will provide a link in the resource box using a domain that you own. That domain can go back to your site, or can be set up forward to the product you are promoting.

Yes, start with less products as to not overwhelm yourself.

Here is just one example of how you might create a funnel for your article marketing efforts.

Create a free blogger blog as your main site - or if you can swing hosting and a domain install a Wordpress blog. Take your initial product - l will throw one out there for an example:

Let's say I wanted to promote candle making and some candle making affiliate programs.

I just googled candle making affiliate program and there are some there.

Ok, I am going to go to the KW tool, and type in candle making to get some keyword ideas. This will give me a list of terms I want to be sure to include in my articles.

I will write my article, and submit to ezine. In the resource box I will say something like: For the best candle making kits be sure to visit my site http:// the best candle making website for you . com (or what ever your domain is)

#1, you are building backlinks to your site
#2, direct to a page on your blog where you give a bit more information on the product you are promoting and on your site you put your affiliate link or hoplink to the product sales page.

After approved by ezine, be sure to submit your article to more article directories. You might rewrite or alter slightly. This will generate more backlinks and traffic to your primary site.

Go down your keyword list and start knocking out articles for all the keyword phrases you'd like to dominate.

Highly recommended - do not sell the "make money online" niche until you have made money yourself. There are a MILLION niches out there.

Select just a handful of products to start with. You will need to track and test and see what converts, how and why.

There are of course more things you can do to those ezine articles to make them get noticed - IE social bookmarking, etc.

This is a very basic skeleton of one way to start your funnel, and is not the only way but hopefully gives you an idea of how to proceed.

"Create a free blogger blog as your main site - or if you can swing hosting and a domain install a Wordpress blog. Take your initial product" How do i see how to do this? or is there a free ebook on how to do this? I have two domains that i can host from instead of forward, i just dont know how, they are domains i purchased off godaddy.com

Ha, you have 2 options here which unfortunately will lead to more choices and options. I will lay it out for you briefly, and then recommend you use the search function on this forum to read and get more information.

In godaddy you can go in and manage a domain. You can choose to forward the domain. This is where you would put your affiliate link that would go to the product. So on ezine it will look like http : // your domain here (which is a domain you own) but when the reader clicks through it will go directly to the sales page.

The benefit is a direct link to the product that does not show an affiliate link. The problem is you can only promote one product with that particular domain and once you decide to promote multiple products it will be costly in buying new domains for each.

In godaddy you can also manage your domain and change the name server. So, you would buy a hosting package on the web ( I recommend somewhere outside of godaddy) then you ask the hosting company what the name servers are, and you go into godaddy and manage the domain and change the name server. The domain name will propogate over to your host. In your host, you do some managing there to add the domain, and from there you can use programs (if it is included in your hosting plan) to auto install blogs and other types of sites. Auto install will take less than a minute.

I will let you know that it sounds like you will then be facing a learning curve to learn how to manage what ever platform you have installed. Installing wordpress is easy. Learning how to use it may be easy or hard for you - I wouldn't know.

On blogger, you don't need to pay for hosting, you'd just go get a free blogger blog and you can either use the domain you own to forward to the blogger blog, or within blogger I believe you can manage changing the name of the domain to your domain. You can also just use the direct blogger domain that you initially create - that is acceptable with ezine. I am primarily a wordpress user and have only dabbled in blogger so I would not be the best person to consult on this and give you the answers.

Perhaps the best advice I can give you on all of this is do create a funnel for your traffic, but don't over think the plan so much that you don't take some action.

When you don't know how to do something, google it or use the search on this forum. There are technical skills you will need, and there are also business skills you will need. By technical I am talking about creating simple html links, dealing with domains and hosts, and knowing how to manage or operate something like a blog. There is a ton of free material all over the web to help you do most of what you are looking for. The business side requires you to create a funnel or plan, and this needs to go beyond the thought that you will submit one article to ezine and get money immediately. I wish it was that easy but it is not.

It can be hard to visualize the big picture when you are wanting to just test something and see if you really can make money online. But as others have stated, you need to really look at what you are about to do as a real business. Any long term sustainable business online or offline requires planning in advance. It can be hard to decide if you want a blogger or wordpress blog when you don't know how these things even work and what is the difference.

If you get a chance, take a look at the bum marketing method (just google to find the site) to get a better idea of some different methods/plans to using article marketing.

Don't pay for ezine. Yes, your article will take up to a week to get approved, but honestly even if you did get an article submitted in one day it sounds like you are missing some of the other fundamentals to making that article worth that fast submission.
