The Weight Loss Niche has gone very Competitve

I have noticed in recent time that the weight loss niche has gone extremely
Competitive and my conversions have gone down. Has anyone else noticed that?
I have focused my attention to my main niche that is MMO which is evergreen
and also e-commerce that are making me a lot of dough monthly.

Weight loss is competitive even before years. But there are hidden keywords that you can find if you spend time. It keeps evolving everytime.

Everything online seems to be becoming more competitive. I suspect that's because more people are joining in as the tools to do so become easier to use and less costly to get started using. That's probably true for your evergreen alternatives. So if weight loss is your passion, I encourage you to persist. Make the effort to build a solid foundation. Allow yourself the time you need to get better and to succeed.

The weight loss niche is one of the most competitive niches, especially this time of year.
However, the MMO niche is likely even more competitive and saturated.

    Heyyoooo,

All niches will continue to become more competitive, as more and more humans learn about how money is made on the internet.

And are you implying that you're focusing on MMO because it's evergreen, whereas weight loss is not?

Because I have to tell you, weather you're in the larger markets of health or beauty, weight loss is absolutely evergreen. And it will remain incredibly competitive just as MMO will.

I did not say the weight loss niche is not evergreen, but i am saying my conversions have taken a nose-dive for me even though at this time of the year it is usually profitable.

I believe that this niche among others are definitely got a lot of players in them. But that should never stop anyone from snagging a little of their piece of the pie. It is huge pie by the way. Not for sure if it is saturated just because of this.

In any niche where huge profits are being made, the competition will always be intense.

It's seldom a good idea to go up against such competition head to head using the same marketing methods as the competition (such as SEO or PPC).

You're most likely to get eaten by both the product marketers and the marketing method itself.

Maybe you need to work on your traffic. The more competitive the better, don't pull back because of how competitive it is, make your website better than the competitors, offer a better deal, compete, win. I think if you do this and focus on traffic, you can do really well.

If its competitive all the more reason to blow it up with your best stuff. Don't hold back on excellence. This sort of competitive thing forces out the weak ones and teaches us to give it our all

Diversify. IM/MMO, weight loss/health and self-development are competitive, but always juicy markets with opportunities to be capitalized upon.

Get profitable on one and branch out - build multiple avenues of revenue so when one begins to dry up, you'll have contingency.

What kind of thing are you selling? There's so much free content on the web and YouTube that eBooks are unlikely to be such good sellers these days. But the good news is there are plenty of other products out there.

I have been ill and have to cut down my sites. I have one expired yesterday, weight fat loss, .com site, 9 years old. Would be prepared to give it free in return for some natural links later.

Only money risked is renewal of domain name .com. After that it's down to trust. If you can make something of it, then I get some some natural links.

It used to earn a tiny bit on google ads but my hosting for that site expired in October while I was in hospital so it's been down since then. No black marks or anything.

  • I'm not super knowledgeable in this area but I always under the impression that the weight loss market was one of the absolute most competitive markets period.

If you have been able to successfully compete in this market for more than a little while, that is very impressive.

How long have you been competing in this market?

Going strong in this market for nearly 20 years, with record sales almost every year. Just as in similarly competition arenas, I avoid all the marketing methods dominated by the entrenched and deep-pocketed marketing professionals such as SEO and PPC.

Almost exclusively, my marketing strategy has always been article syndication marketing (not the dysfunctional form of it widely popular in recent years, which actually was neither articles nor syndication, nor even marketing) to online/offline publications with reading audiences consisting of my targeted demographics.

You think you're smarter than those health giants? that you're bypassing (I highly doubt if can circumnavigate that at all) their entire marketing efforts with your own out-of-the-box thinking, marketing channels?

If you are serious enough about your biz, (I don't think you are) you got to perform well enough in seo, content and video, in addition to doing well in paid techniques. Shying away from competition, advising people doing the same is the most detrimental trait you can ever find in an entrepreneurial mindset; I don't blame you, WF has full of it.

There is no need to circumnavigate all the health giants. The weightloss industry is a $60 billion pie, but the marketing heavyweights are essentially competing intensely with each other within fairly narrow marketing channels.

You've got a snowball's chance in hell butting up against these professionals especially in SEO or PPC. It won't take long to go through a whole lot of money.

On the other hand, my marketing is based on the fact that over 100 million Americans are on some kind of a diet, and none of these diets work. Sounds just like IM gurus. However, it's not necessarily due to a bad product.

Studies have shown (search for it yourself) that dieters typically regain all their weight within an average of six years. This phenomenon can be exploited by dogging the slick marketing competition and offering something "better", "new", or "scientific".

Virtually any mass market publication (online or offline) will statistically have a significant portion of its readership base with a weight problem. And providing solutions to such problems is a marketing mantra. In my not so humble opinion, articles can provide a faster, better, cheaper method for targeting this demographic

The Weight Loss "niche" is getting more and more competitive all the time with more and more people being interested in fitness, health, nutrition etc.

Ultimately it comes down to how you operate in your proper niche. Its not enough anymore to follow a simple 5 step guide, turn off your brain and purely execute. In 2017 99.9% of people with this attitude will fail, simply because with a growing number of competition the USP in your approach and your business will become even more significant.

On the other hand, people who creatively approach their business and are persistent in what they do will have a big advantage - this is something you should definetly aim for!

Depends again on your keyword research.

Example: Diabetic shakes has a average search between 1k-10k on keyword planner but we have no competition for it on Google play (android app store).

So if u create an app on it, it will rank for this keyword and then u can further monetize using affiliate marketing and CPA.

I have noticed recently that there is a huge boom in the eating healthy, organic, nutritious and full of minerals market.

I for one invested in my health and signed up to the Kris Carr diet - which, although was more expensive than most programs, it seems to be money well spent, here is a quick extract from google about it (i am not promoting it, this is just info of what I am doing):

Crazy Sexy Diet is a must for anyone who seeks to be a sexy, confident wellness warrior. Friends: I recommend reading Kris Carr's book: Crazy Sexy Diet. It will enhance your well being. ... Grab Kris Carr's book Crazy Sexy Diet and start living, eating and thinking like you mean it!

What i have noticed is that real people are creating awesome online portals with all the content you could ever need - focused on printable diet plans, shopping list, and videos on how to cook each meal - so membership sites and the like must be growing in this market and perhaps that is where the opportunities are for affiliate marketers', but then, not many offer affiliate schemes, so you might have to start planning your own site that offers this structure.

Perhaps its becuase people are lazy, and they want a full step by step on not just how to cook the food but what to buy, how to prepare the food, and the full diet plan, day by day...you are basically having to make a bootcamp like digital offer, instead of people going to a place for 3 weeks to get fit and healthy, they follow along online - which then opens the doors to facebook groups and other membership forums.

It is something I would like to get into, though, my skills lie in video creation, website building, and fancy pants stuff like that, I am not the greatest affiliate marketer, I am new to it all really even though I have looked into it for years...only ever really made a few bucks - so the course of action for me is open to suggestion...

Anyway, that's my thought's on the matter...thanks for reading.

    Regards

    Mike

Okay, I'm about to turn on "marketing nerd" mode for a second.

There's something you NEED to take into account and thats MARKET SOPHISTICATION.

Basically, your market gets smarter and doesn't believe your old claims. That's why you need to constantly change the Level of Market Sophistication in your headline and copy.

This is kind of "high level" but it's a fundamental concept that will really help you make more money... in ANY niche... not just weight loss.

Here's an incredible video that breaks down market sophistication:

Its all depends on your approach.
When a market is competitive, you will find two types of people. One who will back off and search for new market. And other will simply compete in that particular market with their own twist.

In most cases, it is noticed that second group of people succeed. Because the people of first group never find the lucrative yet less competitive market.

Weight loss is a MACRO NICHE.

    Now you have to NARROW.

The problem is not about how much competitive a niche is, in fact it's always a good point that.

It's about that: ARE YOU SOLVING A PROBLEM?

Solve a specific problem WITHIN your niche, choose a sub niche and then provide content and sell goods.

As an example in weight loss niche, now a trenind sub-niche is about office weight loss, exercises which can be made in office. In uk its goin good. Try.
