Help needed with the "State of Awareness"

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone had some examples of products and their respective market state of awareness.

The states of awareness I'm talking about are these ones:

1.Most-aware
2.Product Aware
3.Solution Aware
4.Problem Aware
5.Unaware

I understand which products go in 1. and 5. but I'm not fully sure about the rest. If anyone has a good understanding of this this, I'd like to have some examples.

Let's say I come up with a shampoo with coconut oil in it, but it's not the first one. It's just another shampoo with coconut oil. Is my market state at 5. or 2. in this situation? Is the state of awareness based on my product, or all the current products? Cause if it's based on my product, it should be 5. since none has heard about it before... But at the same time, it's not some breakthrough product. It's just another coconut oil shampoo out there so it would be 2. I guess?

Whenever I make a product launch, do I automatically start at 5. or not?

If anyone familiar with this could give me some examples, it would be amazing. I've searched on other sites and they only give like one example per category and it doesn't help me settle this down in my head.

Thanks in advance.

P.S: Please ask me to explain if you don't understand. It's getting late here and I wanted to post before bed, so my questions might seem quite confusing.

Sorry mate but I wouldn't bother with this approach. There are far better hooks out there than this.

    Good luck.

    Hey buddy,

I think you're just making things more difficult for you. What's the need for all that sorting job? Unless you are a market researcher and giving out surveys to respondents to ask how "aware" they are of these products you are introducing, then there's really no need for sorting.

What you can simply do is to make products you think are beneficial to your market. Then, gradually introduce them to the market (through giving out samples and hearing their reviews). If you garnered great reviews, then launch the product. If not, make it better and better.

The question here is not how aware they are with the products, but how can these products benefit them.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

I would say, if you are receiving traffic to your offer (other than PPC) they are aware of the problem at the very least. I.E. if you have a site about quitting smoking, there is a reason they ended up at your place. I would try to keep things simple at first and then dig into more depth. Where you get your traffic from may also be an indication of whether they are a newbie or not... Best of luck

You might want to look up Neil Patel's writings on this.

He uses different terms but the essence is the same.

A lot of the interest signals you're looking for can be sourced from social media.
