I'm going to start with a basic advise for you: Don't lose that burning passion and enthusiasm in you, until the end!

It's gonna be a long ride, buddy. Work hard, persist and you'll be what you dream yourself to be.

Brilliant people like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates were able to build their empire because they saw a need that needs to be fulfilled. Therefore, if you want to succeed in the world of IM, do the same; Be the first one to see a need that needs to be fulfilled.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

My advice would be to learn all you can here but don't spend your money on anything related to IM just yet.

Work hard in school and finish your degree.

You are young and your college experience will serve you well throughout your life, even if you decide to become an entrepreneur and work for yourself. Having a degree gives you "marketability" and people in the business world will respect you for "sticking to something for 4 years" and finishing what you started. Your scholarship is worth many thousands of dollars and you should take advantage of it.

The vast majority of people that come here don't make it in the world of marketing. You don't know yet if you will enjoy this career path or not because you haven't been immersed in it yet and you haven't had the pressure of having to make sales to survive. You may not like the daily routine and stress and it may quickly become "a pain" or boring to you.

Regardless of how you feel right this minute, there will always be time to do Internet Marketing (IM) when you finish your studies. In fact, I would suggest you invest some of your nights and weekends in a part-time combination of studying IM, becoming active in this or other IM forums, and even beginning a part-time IM business by setting up a blog (which you can monetize) and begin list building in your favorite niche. You can do these things while completing your degree. Or maybe do some simple affiliate marketing. My point is, you can start "learning by doing" and still attend college as your full time discipline.

I have a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree and was blessed throughout my career because I completed both even though I was tempted to go other directions. My college years taught me discipline, how to prioritize, how to do research, how to deal with people, how to write and speak to audiences, how to analyze things, how to solve problems, how to deal with numbers, budgets, work flow, etc, how to allocate my time, and many other lessons that will help you as a business owner.

It's great to have you with us! Don't give in to all the sales pitches you'll be tempted with as a newbie. Most of us in this business bought way too many bright shiney objects when we started out that didn't help us move forward in our business even though, at the time, we knew we couldn't do without them.

Absolutely follow your passion and your dreams. At your age, it's the best time. How about starting now and driving a Lamborghini at 25 sound?

You don't want to be driving one at the age of 70 just because you listened to other peoples advice about being too young. No way!!!

I know somebody who started at the age of 14. I think he's 15 now. And the videos he puts out, he is so inspiring. He speaks like a true entrepreneur, and he makes a ton of money on the internet through some special arrangements, maybe with his folks or mentor to accept business transactions as an affiliate marketer.

Go for it my friend because life just flashes by and you don't want to look back regretting that you didn't make a start.

Finish school, take a job on the side to generate a steady income, do market research for any kind of upcoming business.

Hope you are well - Thought i'd chime in here for a sec!

Great to hear that you are enthused and excited by Internet Marketing. I am too! The best advice i can give you is just acknowledge how vast Internet Marketing is. By that i mean, there are so many aspects of it, that it can be a little daunting to point yourself in a certain direction first of all. Marcus Taylor from VentureHarbour said in one of his articles "Go one inch wide and one mile deep" - In a nutshell basically meaning focus on one thing first and master it.

My personal recommendation and advice with getting going would be to do so through affiliate marketing, where you would be promoting someone else's product. With affiliate marketing, if done right, you can really learn marketing, step by step, at your own pace. Ultimately, building that foundation will be the thing that will set you up for your future. If you need any help on it at all then just let me know.

Remain enthused and ambitious......Learn. Implement. Sell. Repeat.

You're riding a full scholarship, and you sound like a bright guy.

Finish your education. You may not end up working in the field you study. In fact, the odds are against it. But, as Steve said, the 'unseen benefits' of completing your education will serve you well.

Regardless of whether or not Anik makes money in any other niche markets, his focus when publishing in the IM space is to get you (and anyone else) into his funnel so he can sell you stuff. That isn't a put down, it's just an observation that would be just as valid if the market were golf, dog training, how to get laid, or any other.

A real marketer has a reason for giving/selling information, and that's to gain attention and create a relationship with an eye to a future sale.

Don't make any decisions based on one ebook.

If I had had the opportunities available today in my college years (I graduated ten years before the commercial Internet), I'd spend part of my time setting up what they call a "side hustle" these days. A part time business you can use to both put some jingle in your jeans and learn whether an online business really is for you.

Build your list and your network.

You have plenty of time.

Start building your list from the get go, and have your sales funnel in place..

I wish that I had done this when I first started out in 2008, but didn't do it until many years later.

Finish your college, and as John mentioned set this up as a side business while you finish your degree.

You never know when and If Internet Marketing will turn into a full time income for you

Whatever, you do don't lose your drive.

However, with that said, I agree, finish your degree--but enjoy the experience.

You are only young once.

Now, sure you can make money online.

My advice, and I am sure you will here different, is to follow your passion.

Why?

Simple!

If you are passionate about something it will not feel like work, like man I have to write another post about acne--or something else you really do not like.

My suggestion would be - find one model and master it and then move it to the another.

In internet marketing world time flies by very first trying out different shiny object model
and lots of frustration, losing money, self-doubts and so many other things.

Do not assume that List building is the best thing or SEO is the way to go, or FB ads
is the future, or even Instagram is the easiest and so on.

Select a model you love (or passionate about) and master it. All the models I mentioned
are tested and proven and all of them work, but you need to choose the best one for
yourself.
