What Do You Use for Video Course?

I'd like to start a 10-part recorded video certification course. The only place I've ever seen what I'm looking for is on a .gov site for getting concussion certified as a youth sports coach at: cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/

See where it says "Launch the Course."

You are forced to watch the entire video for each phase of the course. Then you are brought to the test. If you pass, your name is entered on a PDF certificate that can be emailed or printed.

I can't seem to find any brand name with their system. It must be custom govt stuff. Please let me know if you have used or considered something similar. I've already looked into UDemy but that doesn't require you to watch one video before seeing the next.

I think you're right and it must be custom gov stuff - it's all written in javascript, so you could try and hire a coder to write you something similar.

For self-hosted courses, the most popular platform is Moodle. Doesn't do exactly what you want, but as it's open source it could probably be modified.

Do a Google search for "employee training management software". Lots of options.

Why can't you simply drip feed your videos, one at a time, inside a membership site? Give the URL of the next video at the end of the current one.

BTW, "certifications" are useless unless they are tested, monitored, "protected" by an oversight body and others in the niche recognize them as having value.

I roll my eyes at expensive courses that "certify" marketers as "SEO Professionals," "Certified Web Developers," and "Certified Social Media Managers" when there is no oversight authority or ruling body, no continuing educational requirements, no uniform industry standards, and no industry-wide recognition of the value to the certification.

Clueless people are duped into thinking that by paying for a one-time course, a certificate is going to be their ticket to high paying jobs.
