The only thing is if Kindle is a good platform to sell a book on or even just to focus on. I haven't heard too much word-of-mouth from anything about Kindle lately in the book communities

From everything I have read it is a numbers game. Pay someone to write a book for between $30.00 and $50.00, get a cover for $5.00 from fiverr. Market the book via free methods

Repeat this about 100 times and keep repeating and according to the experts it will average to about $50.00 per month per book. Some selling great, some flops and some average sellers.

I guess it is a formula that works. But I have also read that amazon is cracking down on the influx of crap.

I make a full time income with books I have written and published on Kindle. The key to earning a good living is to know your market, provide a good product and build your list!

From what I've read, advertising on Amazon doesn't work. you lose money. I was ready to advertise my fitness book and even set up a campaign with a ton of competitor's products but the reviews I read ended up saying it wasn't worth it; they were in the negative. So now how do I promote it??

Advertising on Amazon DOES work. You have to know how to target your audience, what keywords to use, have an eye catching cover and blurb and offer a quality product.

If you opt not to go that route get involved in spreading the word via social media and other promotion sites.

Hmm. Encouraging. Well I made a hugh list of competitor products when setting up my campaign. Selected a bunch of the ones that are advertising on my book page as well. My book is in the fitness category. Also my cover is pretty nice:

Hey James,

I've had success with Kindle so far this year - last month I made $20K (because of Christmas), the month before I made just over 9K (video here:

Kindle Publishing - My FIRST $10k Month! With...

) but just like anything else it takes time and many months of frustration when your first starting out.

Turn your books into LEAD capture pages for your mailing list

Use your mailing list to send notices of your newest releases (and free promo period books)

One effective way to get more leads is to offer a cheat sheet or checklist

Make sure you publish QUALITY books though - read up on Kindle's recent quality crackdown (error-filled books, 'spamphlets' etc etc)
