how to edit ebay affiliate links

hello
as the title says, how do you edit a ebay affiliate link text?

my problem is the ebay links have a default text size, weight etc and unlike the amazon links you cant seem to be able to apply a css style to the link text

and you cant change what the link says without having to go back to ebay (amazon you can change what the link says inside html editor)

so how do you make the ebay link text bigger, bolder, change colour etc.

What does eBay have to say?

Never mind, I forgot for a minute that this is the Warrior Universal Support Site.

Why waste your time doing your own legwork when you can post your question here and let some sig pimp do it for you?

and for your information i've read through a lot of ebay's content.

whats the point of a forum if its not there to help or are you only interested in selling bullS*it products

I try to be helpful, but I sometimes lose patience with posts that read like the poster was too lazy to look for their own answer. For your information, you didn't mention anything about having already gone through eBay's content. Of course, neither did you mention asking their affiliate support people.

As for selling products, bullshit or otherwise, show me where I have offered anything for sale...

        Sorry I ruffled your feathers.

    ok
lets get back to mutual respect and your last advice was very helpful thank you.

so i've learnt i need to include more info in my post and state what i've done then, ok.

i'm new to ebay and i've scanned through a few times reading quickly only gathering what i need to get started and i'm still in the process on reading the finer details.

you actually opt for either a java link or a html link to add to your site and they recommend java link

i'm no expect with java script links
but do you think this is the reason why i can't edit the 'link text'?

They recommend the javascript links for two reasons...

One, it's copy and paste simple.

Two, they keep control of the link text and formatting, as you learned. When you use the javascript link, it isn't actually your link. It's a link to eBay's link generator script, which inserts your affiliate ID into their preformatted link and "prints" it to your web page.

      Glad you figured it out.
