Business Name linked to Success?

Whats up Warriors!

I am starting a small toner online reseller business where can I find a good name? Is there any website or branding forum that helps with choosing the right name? And was also wondering if I should choose a catchy name such as Clover Technologies or something more general such as tcm solutions should I choose a name easy to remember?

How do you think high quality refurbished toner products, offering 2 years guarantee, free shipping, you get ur product within 24 hours of placing order and personalized customer service would benefit you as my customer? maybe that coupd help finding the right name?

I never knew trying to find a name was going to be so overwhelming.

Thanks

    how about tcm toner solutions

As far as your second question. How much would shipping be it seems next day shipping would add quite a bit to the price of a refurbished toner. So much so, that it might be cheaper for someone to head to the local office supply store and buy a new one.

You also mention a 2 yr guarantee. what would the guarantee cover? are you saying the toner will last at least 2 yrs?

This 2 yr guarantee is actually a rather common standard in this fiercly competitive industry and generally covers any quality, reliability or performance issues, including print yield.

Companies may often buy a year or more supply for deep discounts, and this guarantee usually also covers storage time (within specified temperature ranges).

We use a refill company or generic supplier for our older printers where toner cartridges can get expensive and the company I use is one called "inkstation"

The only reason I remember the name is the simplest marketing thing they do.

They send out with each order a fluorescent label with three key things.

    Their Name

    Their Website

    Their Freecall number.

They instruct you to put the label on your printer.

I didn't, but I did put it on my noticeboard near the computer we order from.

The first contact from this company was via "Cold Calling"

Their deal is buy three cartridges and it is free delivery.

The issue is not so much the name but building up enough customers to give you a go.

This is why the cold calling worked because they were relentless to the point they cut through when the toner was low and they knew they needed to get you to buy multiple products to sustain their business. The first deal was probably a marginal loss on their part.

They follow-up regularly by email and frequently via phone call.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

    Hey
one of the best advice i got when its come to naming
your product or site or business
there's three things that work best
    1. Literation
    2. Ryhming word
    3. Literation + Rhyming ( eg. Coca-Cola)

    good luck !!!

In a business name, I would strive for:
    1. Memorable and unique
    2. Short rather than long
    3. Inclusive of your USP (what advantage do you want to be known for - this could also be your #1 benefit)
    4. Different from your top competitors (so there is no confusion)
    5. Not fancy or cute
    6. A name that you can register as a dot com online
    7. Bonus: if the name contains a top keyword (so at a glance, folks will know what you do)
Two of the free online tools that I use often for finding a great domain name (that can help you find a business name as well) are Impossibility and LeanDomainSearch.

The very best to you in your search,

I'd pick something easy to remember and short a possible. What about TonerTiger?

I'm not sure that the name matters too much. I know a guy who typo'd when he registered his business, so that his business name was nonsense and he just ran with it. That business is decently successful (it did better than he'd expected), and they haven't fixed the typo.

IMO Oziboomer is totally right. Stick this number to your printer and call it when you're out strikes me as the most important element to get right. Personally I'd go for a name that tells your customers to do just that. "Call us for Toner" or something similar but better.

The way I approach names for my websites is I make sure its catchy, memorable, and that it lets you know what the website is about right after reading it.

I agree with Edwin. Just make something that has a ring to it and you're golden. Don't spend ages trying to think of a good name and let it take away from the time you can spend making money.
