I am trying to sell very expensive outdoor/indoor custom furniture. Well, actually it is more like art pieces that function as furniture. (Absolutely gorgeous) And the work really sells itself. I just need to get it in front of the right eyes (very wealthy people who like nice things).

I am having trouble finding a way to "be seen" by these types. Currently, I have only been running CL ads which result in a lot of responses but once the numbers of past projects come out, it is understandably out of their budget. And unfortunately, any out of pocket marketing expense is out of mine...

Eventually, I would like to move toward selling to businesses for lobby areas etc.

Honestly, any ideas would help.

Try forming relationships with people who already work with the kind of people you sell to. People like designers, decorators, architects/contractors, etc.

Get yourself a flickr, pinterest and/or instagram account and post pictures of your projects.

Make YouTube videos about creating your pieces.

Scrape up the cash to afford $10/year for a domain name and $5-$10 a month for a basic website so people can see your work and contact you.

Since your goal is to do more commercial work, get yourself an account on LinkedIn and, again, start forming connections with the people who can help you.

That networking and exposure will do more for you than all the CL ads you can post.

LinkedIn and Instagram are good low-cost channels for starting & building relationships with potential clients and advertising your biz.
    Get started ASAP and good-luck.

If you are in the US you have a lot more fb options ...

But if you know your categories, your demographics etc etc, and you make a great fb ad, they will come.

PS - sounds like you need to make multiple ads, with maybe multiple landing pages (each connected tightly with your fb ad) AND really screw down your location.

If you have somewhere that is easy to ship to (with big furniture) and your target is big business then putting the location as 10 miles arund the centre of the capital city of your state might be a stating point. fb will give you their estimated reach depending on all the targeting you have put in, your budget and the days advertised. You can run separate ads for sending people to your salespage and see which ads and which cities convert the most.

Can you target by purchasing managers in your area (job title) i dont know. but somehow you need to narrow your targetting to people of influence. fb can only do so much with BIG items ..

  • I would contact high end real estate agents and brokers. And if you don't have a site now, you at least have to have a domain name to use professionally for things like email.

There are a lot of people who come online to look for what you are trying to sell, and they go straight to search engine. Most would use geo targeted search.

So you can create a website for what you are trying to sell and optimize it for search engine traffic.

Or a high end independent local furniture store - local and regional craft and art fairs, etc.

If you need to attract people with money for high end products - ads for free and cheap aren't the way to go in my opinion.

High end boutiques - expensive day spas, etc - donating a piece to a high end charity auction (often pieces to be auctioned are on display for a day or more) - you need to get the pieces where people who can afford them will see them.

made from old gum tress and you could see all the rings on how old they were
Sounds like a table that would have caught my attention big time!

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.
