Would it be nuts to do it for free???

I'm seriously thinking about offering my online class for free. They would have to opt-in for it, but I'm having such a hard time figuring out a price, I'm thinking free - and then publish a book.

Would that be nuts???

  • Hi Pbennett,

I personally feel that there is nothing wrong in doing any kinds of testing that you want to do for your online business.

Nothing is stupid as it is just your ways of testing to get the best results. You might want to test it free then upsell them your advance course.

    All the best to you

  • Research the market to see what similar training programs are selling for. If you give it away free now, it may be difficult to charge for it if you later realize it has high intrinsic value.

    Kind regards,

  • IMO free is bad. Make it cheap but not free, at least you will filter freebies seekers.

  • If you really decided to offer your online class for free, you should do it after your book (the backend) is ready.

Unless you just want to build a list of subscribers.

  • I personally wouldn't do it for free. Your time is worth something right?

    • If the course calls for you to devote real time to students during it's run, I would charge for it. However, you would be wise to consider something along the line of a free 7 day email course. This would build you an email list and warm visitors for purchase of your paid course. The paid course might be a progression from that. A free report/ebook is a good alternative or addition to that. Most markets require a certain amount of warming up and trust before they buy. You'll have to test to find out how much yours does.
