The best way to sell my new product - ClickBank or RAP??

Hi guys,

I`ve been around WF for some time (although a few years in IM), and am thinking to launch my first product. But the closer I get to it, the more questions I have in my mind.

I was planning to put my product on ClickBank, and have EasyClickMate installed to manage affiliates, and they can manage their sales pages, etc with the system. However, I just found out today that it is not possible to receive payments from ClickBank through PayPal, which is a HUGE disadvantage for me.

So I am thinking, maybe having RAP as an affiliate and payment management system, would be a solution.

BUT - not having my product on ClickBank, I guess I lose many, many sales! Am I right?

When on ClickBank, I would get JVs to promote, and would get good gravity, so I get even more affiliates without doing more job. When working with RAP, there is no way for me to get more affiliates coming by themselves, right?

Please advice. What would you do? Does having a product on ClickBank really mean MUCH MORE sales/money?

Will appreciate your thoughts and advice - thanks!

    Hi,

This was brought up on the RAP forum, but the big difference you have with RAP is control. You can set your products up and have them live right away. Your affiliates get paid right away. The sales you make are yours right away.

Here's Sid Hale's response on how to make the shift from CB to RAP for the affiliates:

You could then tell your affiliates (assuming you have registered them in some way) about the RAP-driven affiliate program, and send them to your RAP affiliate sign up - or (if you have these CB affiliates registered in a database, flat file, etc.) you might even use the Import Affiliates function in RAP to set up your existing CB affiliates in your RAP system.

Mail them to let them know what you have done for them, and the benefits of selling your RAP-driven version instead of the CB version. Send them to your reseller.php page to login, get their links, affiliate tools, etc.

There's work involved in getting them migrated over, but your pro-active approach will be appreciated by your affiliates.

The "change" gives inactive affiliates (I assume you have plenty of them) a reason to mail about your product and get all of you more sales.
I used to use CB, but they got too difficult to deal with. I still see threads here about problems. RAP, for me, is the way to go.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    John

I used clickbank for my products and found a high level of refunders there - not people who had the product a week and asked for a refund, but people who would buy and a minute later get their refund. I have had no requests for refunds from Rap.

Also - I often found some very strange amounts of money being pulled from my clickbank account and never got an answer to my questions about why it was being taken. Rap goes right to my paypal and I don't have those kinds of problems.

They pull these amounts to protect themselves from chargebacks and future refunds after they've paid you. They refund these "holdbacks" as time goes by. Not sure about the exact time frame though.

I've not used RAP so this is nothing against that script. But for me Clickbank is well worth it because of the built in affiliate network. You can start with your own sales and a few affiliates but as you start rising in the marketplace it can be a snowball effect, and you get more affiliates promoting for you.

    Hope that helps,

    Dave.

I don't know about EasyClickMate. I'd rather just pay the fee for a new account. Otherwise all your Gravity will be consolidated under one account, and the new product will not be listed in Clickbank's Marketplace.

This is a great thread. I would love to hear more opinions on this. I think the original poster meant, that by using clickbank, they will have way more exposure to affiliates just finding them. RAP, on the other hand, you must be more proactive in rounding up your own affiliates. RAP gives you much more control and you don't have to worry about waiting periods AND has paypal functionallity. My vote goes to RAP. It just takes a little more effort to round up those affiliates to promote. If your product is good, they will come.

In my experience, affiliates love RAP because they get paid instantly into their PayPal accounts. There's no worry about missing hoplinks or lost commissions.

    OK,

For affiliates, it's not hard to round them up. If you have a list, everyone is a potential affiliate. The RAP forum has a place for affiliate offers and we have a RAP chat on Skype with People that use RAP and love to promote RAP products.

I think you would be surprised how easy it can be to get them. Plus, they just love the instant payouts, who wouldn't.

Ivana, RAP is as simple as creating a database, uploading the files and running through the install process. I do it as part of my business.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    John

I'm an affiliate, so I don't sell my own peoducts. However, I think that you are right about something: leave CB and you will lose many sales. It's simply because there is not a better place to get affiliates.

As I said, I'm an affiliate, so it's just my opinion, not my experience.

    OK,

I am affiliate too, but lost interest in CB when checks arrived late, were short money, etc. At least with promoting the RAP products, I have the money in my account right away.

    What's not to like.

    Thanks,

    John
