Hello Warriors,

I have been out of affiliate marketing for a couple of years now and looking to get back in. I have a question. Do amazon review websites still work? I would imagine that high ticket items would be the way to go.

You've got less than a snowballs chance in hell trying to promote high end Amazon products using a product "review" format.

What I recommend (and do myself) is profile actual users of the product(s) for specific applications within your targeted demographics.

You can generally find typical customers by visiting the vendors' websites or get some insight by reading product reviews left by buyers on Amazon.

Quite often, you can even get some powerful traction by producing videos which demonstrate the product in action or solving a specific problem.

In addition, I have found that driving traffic through widely distributed articles in niche-relevant online/offline publications is perhaps more effective than any other marketing strategy by far.

Yes the product review format still works very well and higher ticket is the way to go.

I found the $200 - $400 to be the sweet spot.

Products in the couple thousand range moves as well with product reviews but not as many.

I think when it comes to 5k and up products it's best to do what Myob above recommends.

    Cheers

      Thanks Jan,

By "high ticket item", that is the price range I was referring to.

My bad. I've generally considered products over $10k to be high end, which is my target range.

    They still work.
High ticket items aren't always the way to go. I'm pretty sure amazon still gives you a cookie that lasts so many days (for some reason 30 is in my mind), so even if they buy something else than what is listed on your review site within that time frame, you still get credit.

The Amazon cookie always expires after 24 hours.

    Hi W,

I reckon Amazon review sites work fine if you write helpful, informative, authentic reviews, respond to comments - if you blog through said site - build your list, listen to your customers, help folks through your site, make it predominantly about giving something useful and having fun creating the reviews.

If you give with love and have fun, whatever you do online will work nicely. Because da love reflects back to you in the form of success.

Thanks for the replies everyone. What is a good theme to use for amazon product reviews? I used ProReview in the past but it is no longer available.
