What Qualities Define A Good Business Marketer?

Speaking with the guys at DigitalKickstart brought back a lot of thought into what defines a good business marketer. By the definition, we were both thinking internet marketing / digital marketing specifically.

A few non-trivial questions were obviously asked:
- are they data driven?
- do they need to be familiar with localisation?
- what's their primary expertise? (adwords, SEO, SMM, Growth Hacking etc...)
- do they need to have technical skills?
- can we judge their performance based on personality (introverted vs extroverted marketers)
- do they have a persistent focus on one thing or are they more focused on the global picture of the company

But the above expectations aren't that hard to come by which made us really think: what qualities define a good business marketer?

Interested to hear what people think, and if you have a defining quality that sets you apart that you can label, by all means.

On a general level, good business marketers have passion for their product/industry, strong problem solving skills, business aptitude, a knack for good communications, a track record of results, and are comfortable with ambiguity. Net: the best bring a portfolio of skills - and can help drive an assortment of initiatives.

I would say people who can identify what customers want and then provide it at a price the customer is willing to pay. If someone perceives value, they are more likely to buy.
