My thoughts on using Craigslist to get emails

Ok. First of all, this is not about getting email leads from CL users. This is only my thoughts about the whole issue.

I've been reading this forum, ad other forums about people extracting leads from CL. People seem be questioning about if this whole idea is really just spamming.

Here's what I think:

Craiglist says: "It's NOT okay to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests"

So if some guy says that he wants a laptop, then you can only reply to them that you have a laptop ready for sale. You can't send them a freebie offer for a laptop.

Even at that, if someone says that they are interested in business opportunities, then try to offer them something. That's why I suggest just looking in the BizOp section, and try to send them your offer.

When you reply to them, you should only reply to the CL email that issued to the person. This will help to avoid spam.

In my opinion, just avoid those CL email harvestors. you will save yourself the time, money, and possibly breaking the CAN-SPAM.
