Affiliate Marketing : Free Traffic Tips
I am pretty sure these methods were posted before, however, for the benefit of the newer peeps, I will just list them down again. If I happened to miss out on any, please feel free to post it here, and I will update the original post! Thanks!
1) Create a free blog with either blogger.com or wordpress, remember to optimize your blog by creating a relevant URL name. ( like if you are doing about weight loss, then maybe something like weight-loss-4-u-2-day.blogspot.com will do.) Further optimize it by making sure your header and description contains the keywords you are focusing on. If you are using blogger, remember to add the RSS feed script at the layout page to obtain ever-updating links to relevant article or blog sites. You can choose to put the affiliate links on the side of the page permanently, or put it inside your posts.
2) Now you are going to start building back links to your site. This will ensure your site goes up into the first few pages of google when someone search for your keywords. Do the following:
- Write up to 4~5 articles with a keyword. ( So if you have like 5 chosen keywords, you got to write at least 20~25 articles.) Here is a powerful trick to get people coming over to your blog after reading your articles. First, make sure your articles are at least 500 words, now split the initial 250 words into one side. This side will be the "article" you submit to the article directories. Now post the actual article within your own blog, grab the RSS feed from your blog, and post it on your author BIO box, with some "call-to-action" writings that will persuade them to continue reading the rest of the article by clicking the link to your blog. Make sure your posts contain a section promoting the affiliate products. (Like after the article, post an additional paragraph promoting the benefits the viewers are going to get if they check out your affiliate product)
- Now do the same for Web 2.0 sites like Hubpages, squidoo, weebly, etc. Make them all link back to your blog. Since these sites have high PR, it would be high quality back links.
- Social bookmarking: Head over to onlywire.com , register for an account and do so for every social site they have. Its worth the time. Bookmark your blog, articles, web 2.0 sites.
3) Okay now lets go on to direct marketing. Go to google, type in " XXXXX forum " where XXXXX is your targeted affiliate niche. Go register with a couple of those sites, now what I want you to do is to modify your signature file with a simple one-liner of "call-to-action" pushing them towards your blog. The more active you are, the more targeted traffic you shall have.
4) I would really like to cover more methods, however since I am not that experienced with others I will leave it to the more experienced warriors to help out. List of free traffic tips which I need experienced warriors' contributions:

- link exchanges
- social media
- email marketing
- viral marketing
