    • Traffic for dating social network sites and internet marketing type sites.

  • have you tried getting traffic from search engines?

just create massive backlinks to get top spot in google!

    Hope this helps.
  • Don't waste your time on traffic exchanges. It's mostly bots nowadays. Your best traffic will always be from the search engines. It takes time but it will be real people with an interest in your niche.
  • Have you tried to submit articles to the article directories? I've done that in the past with great results! Try to make at least 1 article on each topic and submit it to ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com, then you'll get highly targeted traffic back to your sites! In my opinion! You could also try do blog commenting on other people's blogs and see if you get some hits back to your site...
  • Have you tried blogging?

Blog often and with good content and you'll gets tons of free traffic.

    Hope This Helps!!

  • I have found that articles get a good amout of traffic to your site as well as a backlink. So they kind of serve 2 purposes. The traffic is also something that ends up being quality traffic because people have already read your article before they click on your link to go back to your site.
  • Search engines, directories and even forums are all great ways to get free legitimate traffic.
  • I used traffic swarm but the result is not that good because most visitors will only stay for 1 second! The best way to get free traffic is to build good content which is google friendly.
If you try to sell something, you can try pay per click.

    • Hi Lee here from manchester uk hope you are all well.
Is this for real all this web 2.0 stuff after six moths online with not much going right for me iam thinking well i carnt do ppc to well but is writing blogs and articals going to get in in the search results. Is blasting out with free emails submissions a good way or iam i wasteing my time.
      Thanks
      LEE.
  • I've tried forums, blog commenting, directory submissions, limited article submission but I haven't seen hundreds of thousands of hits from that.

It seems like for the backlinks to work to generate ongoing traffic you really have to have hundreds of thousands of links online or bookmarked somewhere, very time consuming.

SEO has worked for me. I use a keyword research tool and target high search low competition keywords and then bookmark with those words. It is a slower process but I've seen decent results from that but I want more :-).

I want to know if someone has really gotten 1 million unique visits from SEO, if so I'm curious how many pages they had indexed.
  • I agree....traffic exchanges are a waste of time and money......

  • I'm not sure there is such a thing as 'free' traffic...in my experience it either costs time or money or a combination of both. Either way, it's worth it.

  • Like everyone says, getting ranked in organics is one of the best ways to get free traffic. Blogging really helps bring traffic to your site. Start with keyword research with googles keyword research tool. If you can find a highly targeted keyword phrase related to your site with low competition on google (google the keyword with "" around it for best results) write about it. Submit it to article sites and digg and you should start creating some good backlinks. It also doesn't hurt to submit to directories, although they no longer have the weight they used to, it creates links back to your page. Another step is creating a business page on facebook, twitter and yes even myspace and start marketing there. You'd be surprised at how many people are interested in what you offer.

  • Submitting relevant articles to the top major article directories is one of the best ways to drive quality traffic for any niche.

If you're mainly after website traffic and not backlinks, then you should try submitting articles to sites likes Ezinearticles and Articlesbase. Many people only submit to Ezinearticles, but you'll be missing out on a lot of traffic if you limit yourself.

I personally submit to Ezinearticles, Articlesbases, Amazines and Goarticles, but I don't get much traffic from Goarticles, I just go after the backlink juice for search engine rankings. Most of my traffic comes from Ezinearticles and Articlesbase.
  • Micro blogs like twitter, plurk and jaiku

Mini blogs like tumblr, blish and yurbo

Social bookmarking sites like site smash, goboom and reddit
  • This is a common question that gets asked quite a lot here on the WF. The good news is, you are going to get lots of help.

    Probably too much help!

It can be frustrating when there is so much information as it is hard to find out what actually works.

    Do This First
The first thing you should do if you haven't already is make sure you have a tracker on your website so you can see where people are coming from.

Also, if you are selling something, then make sure you have the tracking code on the download page or the conversion page.

Then you can see exactly where people are coming from and MORE IMPORTANTLY you can see where your actual buyers have come from.

This is an important point, as you can then go and repeat your efforts in the same place and you KNOW that the traffic is then highly targeted and actually converts.

    Do This Second
OK, it sounds as if you know that you need quality traffic - which is good.

Yes, you need people that are ready to buy or ready to convert. So, go to places where these people would hang out. This would be forums and blogs in your niche.

You need to participate in these places and have links back to your site.

Obviously - the more you put in the more you will get out.

If you simply throw in one line comments that add no value, you are unlikely to get good responses. So, spend the time to add quality.

You can then ramp this up by writing articles and adding more content to your site as everyone knows - search engines love content.

    Good Luck !

    • There is a lot of good information here once again. I agree that the best way is to get real visitors to yoyr site. Blogs, Articles, Social Media seems to be working for me.
  • Yeah i agree submit articles targeted to whatever your selling use google adwords keyword tool for a list of some good keyword phrases to use for the title of your articles then optimize those articles for the search engines. Try craigslist, usfreeads, post in some classifieds, post in forums like here is a great start. Make comments on high page ranked blogs related to what your trying to sell.. Social networking and bookmarking etc..
  • On page & offpage SEO seem like the best way to go nowdays. Paying for "targeted traffic" has never worked for me" * PM me if anyone knows a service that DOES send traffic that converts

Traffic swarm will work but it's most likely not the people that will buy your product anyway nor is it enough traffic to really make a dent.
  • Do you know if Traffic Swarm and the other ad sites Inetgiant etc use nofollow links to your site?
