Amazon kindle authors, please what day of the week is best for running a free promotion for your kindle book?

What has worked for you?

If you would share your experience, I'll really appreciate it!

Thank you!

Thanks for sharing this article. I wonder if there's much different with physical books?

Historically my data shows that Sunday and Tuesday are the days when I sell the most. I've been inclined to time my promotions so they switch to paid on one of these days.

Statistically there is very little difference just 1.9% but that can be a few extra sales.

What's more important is how you run your free promotion. I'd advise that you go deep and not wide.

The following is correlation and not necessarily causation but is interesting.

There is some evidence to suggest that a wide free book release confuses the Amazon algorithm.

Amazon likes to create profile of users so they know what to place in front of them next time they shop.

When you do a wide launch you can get people who have no interest in your genre downloading the book.

So lets say you have a young adult vampire romance book.

Amazon is looking to see what other books people who get your book already have. If you go wide Amazon might find cookery books, pet grooming, nail polishing and there won't be enough repetition of books to activate the 'customers who bought this also bought algorithm'

By contrast if you go deep in your market and Amazon sees that the people who get your book are also buying/bought Twilight then Amazon knows to list your book in front of people who have bought Twilight.

The stronger the connection to books in your niche the more you are promoted by Amazon.

Books I've launched deep tend to have fewer initial downloads but sell more in the following months and keep their sales rank and listing in the best seller category longer.

As I say thats correlation but going forward is how I am doing all book launches.

Thanks for sharing your data with me, I really appreciate it. It's very rare to see someone willing to share what's working for them.

I'll follow your advice when next I run a promotion and see how the results pops out.

Hi. Usually, the moment of the week where there is the most of people and so the most of customers, is on friday to sunday at night. Around 6pm everyone has come home from work and goes on the internet and social networks. I hope I helped you.

Honestly. This is going to vary by book, niche, demographic, etc.

Unfortunately the best way to find out is to run for every day for a few weeks and let the numbers tell you

Well, Tuesday. I don't know special mindset of the consumer or psychology of selling, but I've noticed that Tuesday is the best day, not just for promotion but for selling your products as well...
