That is a very competitive and over-populated area to dive into as a first attempt in Affiliate Marketing. You are better off looking at topics that you know a lot about or find interesting and working from there, instead of just picking a type of product by what is easy to find or has the highest CPL.

Pick a topic that you know a lot about and start writing a blog. Monetise it with Amazon/adsense/ebay/other specialised camapigns in your vertical once you start to get some traffic.

Once you have this up and working and have experienced the pitfalls and issues with a niche site and have made it work for you, then maybe look at a new niche or a more competitive one, such as dating.

I would never suggest that someone dive into an area like dating without any real affiliate marketing experience or a very unique idea that will differentiate them from the other thousands of affiliates competing in that space.

My advice to you is to learn how to use facebook ppc ad to promote cpl offers. Starting a blog on dating and promoting dating offers on it is the ideal way to go, but using ppc to promote cpl offers is very viable especially facebook and dating offers combo.

Don't just dive in and start spending though. Go learn how others that has had success did it using search engine to find articles and also using warriorforum search.

Look up Plenty Of Fish. It's a site that accepts advertising and can send you cheap clicks that actually convert. There are also many, many training manuals available at warrior plus. You might be able to find a better deal here on the WSOs section.

Years ago when I was bit green I was doing a CPA (dating), I set up a girl profile on FB and bought some pretty raunchy pics for the FB profile then joined many male dominated sites like football clubs Chelsea & Man U etc (UK based). I then engaged a lot on those sites and teased if you want to see more explicit pictures then had the link to the offer of a very adult dating site.

I didn't realise what black hat & white hat was in those days, eventually got banned by everybody but hey I made $85k in two months (which I started my trading biz with). Just thought I'd share that, I'm sure the technique can be done in a more compliant style.

I think you should combine also with free traffic as paid traffic its risky at first .Start by making a blog and make diferent posts in your niche and put your cpa offer on your posts .Also use youtube ,facebook etc

I have been promoting dating CPL offers since they existed.

Here is what I can tell you from 16+ years experience.

Promote offers that you see advertised on TV. This creates built-in trust for the offer and conversion rates will be much higher!!!

Don't waste your time on CPL's under $8 or so. I have found that $8-$9 CPL's for a well-known brand name will kill it over everything else.

Adult hookup sites will generate far more responses than mainstream dating sites, but they pay poorly and the conversions I have found to be FAR-FAR less.

For traffic, I have always used 3rd party email data. Even nontargeted data that goes to the junk folder can do $4K-$5K per month if you are pushing high volume. Sounds like BS, but it is true. This is because dating is simply evergreen. Everyone that isn't married or has a girlfriend/boyfriend, for the most part, wants a significant other. So dating offers have mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience) and capable of producing high volume of conversions.

The offer that has worked the best for me for several years now is eHarmony. Which I probably shouldn't say, but the chances of anyone using that info is probably minimal and will never affect me.
