Why would anyone buy a lead with only name and zip code?

I see some websites that only ask you for name and zip code, not even your email.
why is that? Who would buy such a thing?

    Have you entered your info?

I would expect that they continue to ask additional questions after you submit.

Sometimes they're just looking for general demographic data.. I've noticed a lot of retail stores will do this at the beginning of the purchase, just ask for the postcode, and nothing else.

Or, possibly you've just been cookied, and they'll use that postcode to send you targeted advertising on FB etc based on your area. Without knowing the website, it's hard to tell!

You only get one shot at life - make it awesome.

Everyone else also gets just one crack at it - help make theirs awesome too... or, politely step out of their way.

They're not buying zip codes or email submits, they're buying consumer intent. Those zip submit or email submit offers are part of a greater funnel. That's like saying why would anybody buy a click, how can you make money from buying a click? Lol

it is part of a funnel, and sometimes thought of as a Micro-Commitment. Yes, as others have answered, there will be more to read or videos to watch, and then for certain more requests for your Info, like email or phone#.
By the way, marketers can make money on some "Zip Submit" CPA offers when someone "only" enters their name + zip. This means companies pay out for that, and you know they will followup to make a profit at some point (soon).

    It's for CPA purpose.

Like MaxBounty, they monetize this info cause it's a landing page, or a site made for cpa.

CPA is a method where you can earn money by sending traffic to different landing page, askin infos to the users like mail, zip code etc.

Just google MaxBounty and u see

CPA is cost per acquisition / cost per action.

Email / zip submit offers are simply a type of offer under the CPA umbrella.
