Made $106,000 in 2 weeks

I just started not long ago and needed tons of help learning amazon. Contacted a few guys who claimed to be able to train me...eventually found a good one. So i learned as much as i could and he guided me. Ended up getting a return of $106,000 in first 2 weeks, with only $35k invested. Selling only one item, a board game called Speak Out. Now im addicted. I feel like those guys who gamble all the time. I source from Yiwu City, China. But now im wanting to go even bigger.

So my plan is to put the original $35K back in the bank. Take the remaining $71,000 [profit] and sink it back into amazon. Im only about a month in on doing amazon so far. But is my success luck? random chance? or is it pretty solid? My source gets me pretty much any TOP selling amazon item i want at super low price. So my strategy has been looking at amazon for whats hot, order whatever i want, flip it like i did with Speak Out. This seems too easy. im afraid its a fluke though and i lose my $71K profit. Guy is helping me out through his website but i figured it would be best to venture out and ask around myself as well.

Any tips or ideas? What should i do? I want to do it again so bad but afraid it doesnt work this time. The guy swore to me it will work again. So i went on his site and was about to place second order of as many Speak Outs as i could....then hesitated and landed here. lol.

If you invested $35k - and within 2 weeks had an ROI of $106k - seems to me you'd be listening to the person who taught you in the first place. There's an old US saying that applies here - "Dance with the guy who brung ya".

If you are new - why would you 'reinvest' ALL of your profit? Pull out the original $35k and $21k more (profit) - and buy again with the remaining $50k. So what if it doesn't work as well this time? You'd still be in profit. Remember you have to pay taxes on that income.

This might have been a fluke - or you might be on to something. Run with it.

Iam not saying this to Jason on a personal level ( because frankly I just do not know him). But if I was to guide my opinion by typical human behavior I would bet that there will not be a response....because there will be no reach out to Hasbro for them to respond to

Whether it's right or wrong ,that's just human nature for many people. Hope Jason proves me wrong

Maybe there is a small town or principality in one of the Chinese provinces called "hasbro"

There is one thing that is for certain.

If the OP made what he says then the upstream supply chain made much more.

If the product was counterfeit then the real cost will be borne by the OP but do you think anyone in China will bear any responsibility or feel any repercussions ?

            Not likely.

A good lesson to do your due diligence when it comes to sourcing and selling any product.

I wouldn't want to risk my family's security and assets for a the chance of a fast buck.

But I guess it is a little bit like being a drug mule.

The promise of riches leads the naive down a path to eventual self destruction.

Here's hoping the OP stays out of trouble, pays his taxes and builds a successful business.

            Best regards,

            Ozi

But I m little bit curious About that person, if he can make that much money in just 2 weeks ... why dont he do that for himself alone ..... and be a millionaire in no Time....

Why not just go to Alibaba and buy the products yourself and have them shipped to Amazon by doing FBA? What is your cost compared to Alibaba...see link below to see their cost

    https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search...Text=Speak+Out

This way you do not risk getting burned by "some guy"... the only risk you have is they stop selling.

Seems like this guy is too good to be true.....but you never know, some people are actually decent in this world yet.

Hes using his friends offer to get him low wholesale pricing, and then being the middle man for others like me. Which is the whole point of his website.

Great to see how much you earned.

I also have a saying "if it smells like a scam, it probably is a scam" perhaps your "guy" is buying stolen goods or paying for them fraudulently, if they are THAT cheap. Watch your tracks in case you get burned. If you are making money from this and it is fraudulent, you will still be a suspect.

If you made $106,000.00 selling this game. Based on the pricing at amazon I would imagine if you sourced correctly you should have made about $7.00 per game selling it around $14.00 to $16.00. That means you sold over 15,000 games in 2 weeks??? There are a lot of sellers of this game and many fulfilled by amazon at the &12.00 and a lot of competition with games like "Words against Humanity" Would you mind telling us what you spend the 35k on.

      Sure.
First, i must clarify something. When i sold Speak Out, it was months ago. I didnt mean that i JUST signed up with guy. i meant ive worked with his help. This was around november of 2016. I was selling about 6000 per day for those 2 weeks. Price was about 29 to 34 dollars per game. Now, today, its dropped massively. But so has the source price. So it still balances out even though speak out is selling cheaper. I ended up renting a booth at my local mall during this time. The mall allowed me to sell speak out only because no store in the mall had any. Everywhere was selling out. But, my source kept me loaded. I was monitoring my amazon sales while at that mall booth. People kept saying they seen the game on tv show Ellen. where celebs was playing it with her. Sooooo, i hooked up a 55 inch tv and replayed that episode over and over. People would stop and watch...then buy it. Laughing their butts off. Every day i would bring some in. sell out. On amazon, i never see those. It goes straight from my source to amazon FBA. I only sent SOME to me directly to setup at the mall. Which sold...but was useless as it wasnt needed and amazon sales where good. So i shouldnt have setup booth lol.

That's truly impressive. It seems that the timing of your sales may have coincided with the Christmas holiday season? Maybe that's why you sold so many and the sales have decreased.

Why are you thinking of sinking all the $71k profits? Why not take out a small portion and test the market first? You can probably afford to make a small loss testing the other products' sales potential to make sure there is a demand.

True. Was just role playing ideas. When i sold the games they where like $29-$34....xmas time. And they where more rare to find. Amazon sellers where out except me and official hasbro. but i kept the buy box. Well, sort off, my triner was also selling them too, i watched him make $400,000 in 4 days off speak out alone. then he let me hold the buy box off and on. As i was also paying him. But in the end, i made total 106k in 2 weeks and he made 400k in 4 days. I dont know how much he had invested though. But as i sat watching over his shoulder those 4 days....i knew this was the bizz for me lol

I have not said they are fakes, just that it appears that you might be selling counterfeits. My long experience in importing and my knowledge of the Yiwu markets make me seriously doubt that you can buy genuine brand name products there.

The site you mention as your source is one of many Yiwu market sites, where your guide also has a stall. Yiwu can be a great place to buy items for $2 stores, but not to buy branded goods. For those interested I suggest visiting Yiwu personally, but theYiwu market, is mind boggling. It covers 1,000 acres and has 70,000 stalls. Many, and in my experience most, of the stall holders do not speak English, so you would need a translator. Having been required to use a translator in my exporting days when I was selling product to China, I can tell you that it puts you under a serious disadvantage.

Just because he is buying direct from the manufacturer, that's no guarantee of authenticity. There are manufacturers who specialize in producing fakes. There are also manufacturers who make the genuine product for the brand owner, but it is extremely rare for them to have a license to sell or distribute the products to anyone except the brand owner.

The only way to be sure that the authority to sell the brand is genuine is to contact Hasbro and ask them. Asking your supplier is pointless because whether they are genuine or not you will still get the same answer. Faking of documents is endemic in China. I'm not saying the ones you have are fakes, but you should check them.

If you need help to do that I can give details of Inspection Services that can do that for you. Cost might be about $300 but that's small change when you consider how much you stand to lose if they are fakes.

Finally don't believe everything someone tells you, because they seem to be a nice guy.

Also as i mentioned in other comment, he mainly goes to YiWu for the ebike he brought to american market. Ive been helping him with that as well. It is his and only his in all of america, where in china its referred to as Askmy bike. No, of ocurse that doesnt mean anything. Doesnt mean he didnt swing in to a counterfeit shop while there. Wait i see it, number 2 section 4.not 4 then 2. it says
"Excessive consecutive posts in a single thread by the same author may be merged into one post."

First, this says it MAY be merged. Doesn't state its a requirement. Also, in regular forums, this means if im last to reply, then i reply again....when i should have EDITED my last reply. It doesnt state you CANNOT reply to a comment via hitting the reply button. It states that if a poster comments a new comment...ten different times, he should edit first comment and include them all in it. Again, if you ever used a PHPBB forum etc, this means THE LAST post. dont make new ones each time. Replying is different. So far, i havent seen any rule that states i cant hit reply and reply to each persons comment.

EDIT: For example, like this. Look below at my first comment. I should have added it here. But reply directly to you. What that rule is saying is if im the only guy posting and as you scroll down and see Jason jason jason jason jason KAY KING jason jason. Then merge them. As i only needed one post. Still doesnt say i cant reply to each comment. otherwise that defeats the purpose of a reply button under each comment lol. This forum is a clone of REDDIT forum.

            Hi Jason,

Once again I'm guessing that you are replying to my post. In this case it is way up near the top of the page and your reply is a long way down the page, so it's hard to be sure that you are answering my post.

I'm not quoting forum rules, but if I explain the process maybe that will help avoid any confusion.

If you want to reply to a post and want to make sure the person who made that post knows you are replying to them, here's what I suggest:

Click on Quote, then click on Post Reply at the bottom left side of the page. If it's a long post and you only want to reply to a part of it, you can delete part of the post and only leave the part you are answering. That's what I have done in the quotes above.

Now to answer your post: Yes, that should be your next move. I am pleased to see that you are going to do that, because I am just trying to help. I hope you haven't been conned, but if you have and you do the right thing by contacting Hasbro you will be more likely come out of this without losing your shirt.

            Hope this helps.

I know what you mean - and you have already seen the possibility....but don't start dreaming too far ahead. Pricing has changed on the product - more competing sellers perhaps - or perhaps the money is still there as lower prices may appeal to a different demographic.

This was around november of 2016.
The domain/site of the person you worked with didn't exist until August - 2-3 months before you worked with him. That's not important AS LONG AS everything is the same now as it was then.

So, eventually, his websites up. In a sense, i got exclusive peek before then. As this guy was local to me. We became somewhat friends. Instead of reinvesting your entire profit, I think it would be better to keep reinvesting 20% of your profits and banking the rest. Keep in mind you are still in the learning phase. One bad move and you will be reaching back into that $35k pot you started with.

    REALITY CHECK !!!!!

The OP says his guide is a personal friend of Hasbros CEO, but it appears that he has been illegally selling knockoffs of a Hasbro product.

If that's the case, I suggest that he should hold on to all that cash to pay for his lawyers to defend him when Hasbro find out.

Selling fake copies of big brands can be very lucrative until you get caught. Hasbro is one of the big litigators when it comes to protecting their Intellectual Property (IP).

There are people on Warrior Forum promoting the idea of selling counterfeits of big brand products. Those who follow that bad advice are taking a big risk.

Last year there were several hundred websites shut down as the first step by big brand owners to protect their IP rights from counterfeiters. Those people immediately lost their businesses, and many of them had a lot of money in inventory that they couldn't sell, or else risk criminal prosecution if they did.

The story hasn't ended there. The brand owners are pursuing the thieves for damages, and when it all ends there could be a lot of bankruptcies.

Why not put all that investment into a legitimate business that can continue operating without always having to look over your shoulder?

What you can DO is QUOTE each responses and answer them in one post. This way, users will know that you are answering a specific post instead of posting several responses consecutively. Just my 2 cents

Confused. When i hit reply...like i am now...i reply directly to person. Keeping things organized. If im to QUOTE everyone, in a single reply...i would have to scroll up and copy and paste EVERYONES comment. Furthermore, I was wondering do you think someone with lets say, 1/10 of your starting capital could give this method a shot? Does being located in the United states impede this process (or eases it?).

My strategy is to focus on the TOP selling amazon items. As amazon has a section which shows whats the hottest selling thing in any category. Toys, games etc. Then, i ask my source if hes able to get X. If he can, he quotes me how much. Then, i seek other sourcers and ask them. My guy has been beating others by a few bucks.

Seems you still have to copy and paste EVERYONES comment lol. Is it discouraged here to hit reply to each comment? That keeps everything in order. Ive never heard of someone multi quoting unless they are making a new reply at bottom. Replying individually allows readers to scroll...read someones comment...then read everyone's comment to that comment. Versus having to scroll through ALL comments looking for those who have responded. Matter of fact...that would be horrible...unorganized and stressful for readers just following along. Everything would be jumbled. If someone asks a question, you should hit reply on their comment so the reply is right there under their question versus somewhere lost below. I just realized.....im ranting lol.

So i went on his site and was about to place second order of as many Speak Outs as i could....then hesitated and landed here. lol.

When a Moderator asks you change something - not the best idea to continue as you were and argue with it.

If you don't want to use quote links - You can simply copy paste a quote into your reply and then highlight that text and use the "quote marks" in the edit bar.

I'd advise not tossing off the advice about "fakes" - there are a lot of them around and authorities have been cracking down on them. Shouldn't be a problem to ask your supplier about it.

Like this? Now we have YOUR comment twice. There isnt anything wrong with asking questions about quotes when it makes no sense at all to NOT use the reply button. Midaswell remove the reply button all together if we cant use it. So let me understand...we arent supposed to use the reply button? Others are replying to my comments the same way...why isnt anyone telling them to not use the reply button? lol When readers start from top, they want to see a comment, then all replies to that comment directly under said comment, not at the very bottom of the page after 100 others comments. That means each time someone new comes and reads...they wont be able to see replies to a comment unless they read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT EVER POSTED here. lol. But im down with doing it....can someone link me to the forum rule that says this is a requirement? The part where it says "We created the reply button so you can reply directly to people and keep things organized, BUT we dont want you to use it. Instead, Make readers suffer through reading every comment until they find the one they want." But please link me to the forum rule. I dont intend on disobeying forum rules at all.

Firstly, congrats on the big ROI! That's wonderful and in just 2 weeks time frame, even more wonderful! It sounds like there was a strategy rather than a random gamble when you sold Speak Out. I'd say: stick with the strategy but don't put all of your eggs in one basket. I'd definitely encourage on researching other products to sell, rather than focusing on one thing. I am presuming that you are asking me to answer this question, but because it appears way down the page from my post and you didn't quote my post, I am just guessing.

ANSWER: Fakes can, and often do, look exactly like the real thing. The best way to tell if it's a fake is to check with the brand owners. Ask them if your supplier is authorized to sell or distribute the brand owner's product.

If they don't have authority from the brand owner, the products are being sold illegally.

If it's profitable.. you can now take 100% of THAT (the next month's) MONEY and re-invest..

Let's get one thing clear here... unless the games come from Hasbro itself, and with written authorization to resell - you are partaking in criminal activity. In the long run you will lose more than your shirt.

To simply say "this guy is buddies with the ceo" is about the lamest/scammiest excuse out there. A CEO's job is to surge up profits, not give deals to friends and family (if this was even the case, which I seriously doubt). This is the last thing a real CEO would do, think about it.

Anyways, not hating, congrats on your success, and if this is a gamble you want to take, then it's on you. Personally I believe this is about the worst kind of business you can create.

Makes me wonder why Amazon does not do more about this. If someone is selling that many games then it would be in amazons best interest to look into this. Anybody that sells, has sold, or is interested in selling on amazon the first thing you learn is that it is Amazon that is selling and all customers are amazon's. So, realistically hasbro could sue amazon as well as the individual sellers.

    Hi Jason,

I have been in this industry for past many years and have seen many kind of marketing strategies applied for various niches. Without knowing the kind of strategy that you used to market, i can't advice whether it is Fake, Real or Luck. Even though you have made three times of ROI (Return Of Investment) i can't advice to go ahead without knowing the actual structure of what you are marketing and how you are marketing.

Let me tell you one honest truth about this field that i have learned from my experience, please don't blindly follow a method (without understanding its working structure completely) just because of the reason that you have made some money by it initially. If you do so then you will bleed money in future.

I'm saying all these from my experience !!!!

To be very very honest i really don't have a good opinion on how you made money, because in the post you have mentioned that you made 100K+ dollars in 2 weeks, As per my understanding i believe that you learned the marketing strategy and made money in 2 weeks. If this is true, i don't mind saying that your strategy is not good. To learn and understand about any strategy you need to spend atleast 40 days. You may learn any strategy in less than one day, but that is not enough you should learn to analyze how this strategy works in the real market. That's why i say you can learn, what the strategy is in one day, but analyzing how it works on the real market will take time, because the market is not the same everyday. Today you may see some results but it will be the opposite on the other day. So you have to check how your strategy works in market for at-least for one month, then you can scale up your investment.

Please don't get me wrong for being negative in what you have achieved buddy, I thought of giving you some honest and valuable advice, please don't get me wrong.

    Cheers,
    Anand.

Jason, you said you would check with Hasbro as I suggested, but instead you have checked with your friend.

If in fact the "information" he showed you is genuine, that does not prove that he or you have any legal right to sell those products.

For it to be legitimate you must have a license from Hasbro themselves. You said you would check with Hasbro and post here when you got a reply.

I will be kind to you and just say that you might be the victim of a big scam, because with my many years experience in importing, I know that such a scam is common and people get caught every day.

You don't seem to understand the difference between fakes and items (genuine or fake) being imported and sold without legal permission from the brand owner.

We had the full tour of the facilities where our host showed great delight in showing the chips he produced for a world famous brand.

My friend commented on how good the chips were to which he was great with the question 'do you want them?'.

The factory was producing the same chip in the same factory for other tech companies at half the price.

Not unusual. In my numerous visits to China beginning as an exporter in 1978, and later as an importer beginning in 1987, I have visited countless factories.

In many of those factories I saw one production line producing high quality, brand name products, and another producing something similar but of much lower quality.

Even back in those days the manufacturer that dared to sell the brand name item on the black market quickly lost their biggest customer once they were found out.

The ones who made copies too close to the brand name one also lost their best customer.

Chips would be harder to police, mainly because they are really quite a generic product and would rarely be branded.

Products incorporating chips, such as Sandisk products are often counterfeited, and sometimes unauthorized branded genuine ones are sold, but Sandisk regularly come down on the IP thieves like a ton of bricks.

    Jason, you know something?

What you are earning in a matter of 2 weeks is what most people will like to earn for decades but most could not even reach that mark.

Especially when it comes to earning online.

May I ask who are you learning from?

I have never done Amazon selling before. Only affiliate marketing so far.

But if I am in your shoes, I will do the other way round. Or maybe $20K back into Amazon to test first before considering putting more.

Besides that board game, have you ever considered coming with a range of other board games as well?

Speaking of those, I used to be a big fan of Monopoly and Risk.

Perhaps you may like to model upon those.

In terms of internet marketing space instead of offline business?

Because to be honest, that is something no one has ever done it before.

Since everyone prefers to play video and computer games.

    Or online games since internet.

I think you're doing it backwards.

Put the profit in the bank and play on the original $35K.

Obviously, you were fortunate to discover a system that works. Why are
you doubting what you know worked? Why are you seeking advice on a forum
where the vast majority of people who will be willing to give you advice have
never achieved the level of success you've had?

Doubt takes you out of action. Action takes you out of doubt.

Stop doubting what you already know and take action.

There is no chance you made $106,000 in 2 weeks. Amazon has filters in place they would'nt allow a new seller to withdraw $1,000 in 2 weeks let alone $100,000.

They put a hold on payments if you make too many sales too fast and withdraw too much too quickly within days of starting, it happened to me. its called 'Account under review'.

Amazon would be open to fraudulent sellers, list hundreds of items, withdraw all the money, dispatch nothing.

This is 100% spot on, assuming he sold the games using a new account. However, if he had been selling on Amazon for a while with an "aged" account with many other sales under his belt prior to selling these games, he may have been able to skate those filters. But at that volume, I would venture to guess any account would potentially get flagged. I dunno.

Also, hasbro and other manufacturers have "special" accounts on ebay and Amazon in order to keep track of sellers selling products under their name/brand to check if they are legit. If they are not, they have Amazon pull their listings and even shut down their account. This is why I would say that if he got away with that many sales of the game, he probably wasn't selling fakes. At one point, being the only seller selling the game when all other sellers were out of stock, he'd have stuck out like a sore thumb and other Amazon sellers LOVE to be tattle-tales when it comes to their competitors selling fakes. They watch their competitors like a hawk because most Amazon sellers make all their income on Amazon and/or ebay. The only requirement to be a tattle-tale is to buy the product from the seller to prove to Amazon what you got was fake. Which is a small price to pay if your life depends on Amazon seller.

      HOWEVER...

I smell a sales pitch or link to a sales pitch coming here.

      Wait for it...wait for it...

I see your points but several things where at play. First, i would like to mention the guy i went through made $400,000 off speakout in 4 days. Thats what inspired me. I sat and watched over his shoulder and seen his numbers rise. The first thing that was at play here is the holiday season. Second thing, we happen to sell ours right as the video of the Ellen show which showed Kevein Hart and a Kardashian playing the game on ellens show. Taking advantage of the holiday and the viral video, we made a lot of money. I wasnt able to withdraw ANY money for about a month. It all sat on my amazon account. Same with my guy. That $400,000 sat on his amazon for awhile. He sank almost all of his 400k back into it. I pulled out about half. and then other half following month. Third thing at play here is his connection to hasbro manufacturers and ceo. So, allllll of this explains why the advantage. WHY the rush. WHY the fast cash. Its all strategy and WHO you know. I recently quized him up on some of yalls statements and questions/concerns. He showed me information regarding where he gets the games. Its one of hasbros manufacturers in china.

If you want sound accounting and business advice, you need to take some of your profits & secure an accountant and an attorney and ASK THEM, not some random people on an IM forum - hardly the crowd you need telling you want to do with such a sum of money.

If your doing that level of business without an accountant and an attorney, you're not serious about business.

Between this post and Walter Hay's advice, you have all the info you need on how to proceed to your next step. Hi Jason, there is no such thing as "luck" in online business, you either do it right and make money or you mess up and don't make anything so if you made 106k after investing 35k, you're doing it right.

Regarding new products, this is how I usually do it on Amazon: after finding something I like, I source about 20 of them, list it on Amazon, optimize it as good as I can, sell them on Amazon and see how it performs.

What you need to know about Amazon is that you really won't know how a product will perform until you put it on Amazon. So, yes you should look into other products and you should have lots of lots of products on Amazon, but do it slowly so you don't end up losing everything.
