Holy Crap! One of my GoArticles articles got 464 requests!

Sorry guys, I just had to tell someone about this considering that I've never seen these kinds of numbers from GoArticles before. This one article has 464 requests. My runner up article for most requests only has 11. That just . . . blowed my mind.

    Congrat!

Would be good for you to find out if the article is ranking for any keyword, look for the difficulty score of that keyword then and just replicate the process using other keywords.

I wish I could replicate that with all of my other articles. It even got more views than when I submitted it to EZA. The website it's posted on is doing great for it's purpose. It's a hobby site though so I'm not really concerned with cranking out tons of articles to get views. My time is better spent focused on my money sites.

Perhaps this is a simplistic question, but with a hobby site/article receiving that much traffic would it not be an idea to a least do some monetization?
      Simple and direct type?

      Thanks,

This site is actually my big adsense generator. Other than that, there's not much of a way for me to monitize it considering that the niche isn't really one where there are a ton of products for. Plus, the target audience is fairly young.

lol to everyone else. Aside from the numbers, this really wasn't a phenomenal task. The article itself is barely over 250 words . . . and I'm the type that writes an article and doesn't even go back to read it for proper grammar, spelling, ect before I post it. In fact, after rereading the article I discovered 2 type-os in the last paragraph.

You could put a CPA offer for ringtones or something. That pays out nicely if you get good traffic.

          Just a thought.

Congratulations. Those are pretty high numbers. Think my highest for an article was 65 and I thought I was doing great.

Sounds like you might want to do a little ebook or report on that subject.

      Ofthemix,

You should do a video series building upon your article, showing footage of proper sensual kissing.

It says "requests" at the bottom of the votes box to the left of your article title in the GoArticles author panel. As far as I know, article requests is the closest you can come to getting stats of how many times your article was viewed. As per Go Articles FAQ section:

"A frequent question asked by authors is what the number of "requests" under each article title represents. A "request" is the number of times an article has been read online or requested via email. GoArticles, however, cannot tell you who requested an article or where the article might be used."

To Richelle123: Yeah, I know what you mean. I actually just submitted an article today that has already received 12 requests. That one just took second place to the now 466 request bread winner. I've never really looked at GoArticles as a great source of traffic, even though it's second to EzineArticles. I guess they've finally proven me wrong.

Congratulations on the quick traffic boost. It always feels good when an article goes bananas.

Now build 20-30 more links to that goarticle and boost the PR of it and totally dominate.

    Fantastic

I'm a full time writer and I've never come close to that number. Are you sure you can't turn it into a money spinner? The reason I ask is because lately the site that I write for has received quite a few requests for kissing related articles, and this could of course suggest that there are some products out there which you could promote. Of course this is only speculation, as I'm not really involved with affiliate marketing, other than promoting the site I write for.

    Anyway, great work

You're on the first page of Google for Emo Girls Kissing. I don't know if you were already there before you got backlinks from this thread but I suspect you were. That might explain the number of views.

Edit: 33,100 searches a month on EXACT in Google's keyword tool. Yep, that'll do it.

Ohhh, you're right. I'm a bad article marketer. I admittedly never even check to see if my articles make it on Google's first page. Now I'm just wondering why my EzineArticle (same article) didn't make it to Google's first page. Oh well, I'm not going to complain. A win is a win.

Yes the numbers are impressive but I think the subject matter say's it all I have several articles on female sexuality ( under a pen name) with the following results
    1022
    347
    345
    239
    47
    These were published in June

This is not to distract from your achievement just to underline the impact subject matter can have

Indeed, Tom. I agree that it's all about the subject matter. I don't think many people would deny it given that we've all written articles in different niches without near as great results. Still, it was an unexpected surprise when I logged into my GoArticles account. I never expected to see such high numbers there. Congratz on the 1022.

Congratz Yommy. I read your thread about how well you've been doing lately. Good job. You deserve the success for working so hard for so long.

I gave you a thanks because it is nice to know that goarticles can pay off if you pick the right keywords/niche. I read more and more people complaining about ezine articles and I often wonder why they don't take the article they submitted to ezine and re-write it some and submit it to goarticles too. They are extremely hassle free in comparison to ezinearticles in terms of submission.

There's really not much to tell. As was mentioned earlier, I think the success of the article really had to do with the subject matter. Sex sells . . . and a lot of guys tend to fantasize about two girls kissing . . . add a fetish factor in and you get an instant best seller. The keywords were low competition, the subject matter was appealing. I think that's all any article really needs for a lot of views. Truly there was nothing special about the article.

That's pretty good! I have one on GA with a little over 400 and another with a little under 400 requests, but they were both published there in 2005. The one over 400 requests has 900 words. (They are technology related and have nothing to do with girls kissing, although it sounds like it may be a niche worth pursuing - LOL) Nothing recent has much over 100 or so.
