How do I do whiteboard animation over top a video

I am a Fiverr.com seller and a client wants a whiteboard animation done over top a live video. Is that possible? If so what software are you using for this?

By "whiteboard" do you mean a scribe/sketch animation where it looks as if someone is drawing/writing over the background video?

If so, Explaindio is probably the best for this.

Thanks...I missed the "live" part of the OP's post in my response.

I don't think OBS or WireCast have this ability, but you could create the video before hand then use either of these to programs to broadcast a "live" video using a prerecorded video.

I seriously doubt OP means the video is in real time.

Actually, not. You can use a TriCaster by outputting both signals and recording the broadcast - if you have an easy $10k to blow. :-)

      Thank you.

I use Explandio...its pretty awesome. You can simply have an object drawn over the top of a background image or video. Whiteboard is just the style (drawn) not that it means the background has to be white.

    Good luck

It depends on what software do you use. The only software I know that are able to carry out that function is Explaindio. But personally I don't like explaindio for its payment scheme.

Other than that, you have to check if your software is able to draw on PNG (Invisible background), then use other video editing software to overlay it on top of the of the animation.

I found a video on how to do this on Videoscribe if that helps

Seriously? If you're producing videos that your clients are paying for, I can't understand how you would consider Explaindio's pricing as out of line. It's peanuts.

The IM mindset of trying to do everything on the cheap is one of the main reasons people limit the amount of money they can make. IM, like any other business requires a certain amount of investment in having adequate tools to meet the needs of your client's requests.

Live your life with a pauper's mentality and you'll die pauper.

      Thank you.

Wouldn't be the first time I've experienced it, but it could just be my delivery. I don't know if bluntness is appreciated, here - or frowned upon. I do witness a lot of 'telling them what they want to hear,' with little regard for the cold, hard facts. Does that actually help anyone? I think, not.

I have always been of the mindset that if something is free, that it has no value, whatsoever. That is not a blanket statement, but it has been my personal and business experience.

The quickest way to lose me as a potential client or customer is to tell me you are going to do something or give me something for free. That, to me, means that your offering is totally worthless or that you don't possess enough self-esteem to feel that your offering is worth charging for. Either way - we can't do business.

Even when I do work for non-profits, I will ask that my out-of-pocket costs be covered. I'm happy to waive any profit and I will give them the most precious commodity of all, my time, which I value extremely highly. Covering my costs seems to be regarded as a reasonable request.

              There is no free lunch.

              Thank you.
