Liquid Web, Rackspace, WiredTree question...

Hey everyone,

I am having HELLA issues with LiquidWeb and was wondering if anyone is having similar issues.

Here's the deal.............

I've been working on a project for 2 years now and I'm getting ready to launch in the next month or so but I need to move servers.

It seems Liquid Web purchased WiredTree (whom I LOVE) and I am having nothing but problems with them. I was with WiredTree for over 10 years and their support is amazing. Responses within minutes, constant updates, AND they know their ish. I cannot say the same for Liquid Web.

I was solicited by them about a month ago to purchase a new server and migrate everything to the new server. A MONTH AGO!!!!!!!!

Yes, A MONTH! Based on this month long nightmare, I feel justified in asking them for a credit. Am I wrong?

They ignore emails, take DAYS to respond, AND I still have NOT been migrated. They keep repeating the same regurgitated nonsense and NOTHING has been done in a month. I've asked for a credit for them wasting a month of my time, all the down time I have and just as a sign of good faith, since I am a 10+ year customer of WiredTree.

I was wondering if someone could refer a GOOD dedicated hosting company that can handle my needs as it seems I won't be using LiquidWeb. I need someone that offers free migration if possible.

    Like you, I was with WiredTree for the last 10 years. Got an email from Liquidweb more than a month ago about the purchase and also saw it inside Grove @ WiredTree.
    I got new hosting through Knownhost and moved my sites there (which they migrated for free in about a half-hour).

    I created a support ticket to Billing in my WiredTree account and told them to cancel my account, which they did in a matter of minutes. On Friday, 3/31 I receive an email from Liquidweb saying they will be migrating my server to them from WiredTree on April 5.

    So, I reply to their email saying I've cancelled my WiredTree account and have moved to another hosting company. I even included a copy of the cancellation ticket from WiredTree in the reply.

    Received a reply from Liquidweb saying they were sending my issue to a supervisor. I'm still waiting for an update from them even though I don't really care since I've moved on to other hosting.

    My login for Grove @ WiredTree worked at Liquidweb so I was able to log into an account they already created there for me and I deleted my credit card on file for billing. I was also able to submit a ticket and merge it with the one from the email they had sent.

    So far, Knownhost has been really good with helping me get up and running. And, they are half the price for the same Managed VPS I had at WiredTree.

    I hear ya. Liquidweb has been less than helpful

      This is my EXACT story! lol I caught wind about the acquisition from a post on my blog. When I confirmed the move at WebHostingTalk about WiredTree being bought by LiquidWeb, I immediately pulled the trigger with Knownhost within a few days. KnownHost had everything migrated before I even received the official "Announcement" email from the President about the acquisition.

      To make it even sweeter, we moved from WiredTree Hybrid VPS to KnownHost Dedicated and we're paying the same price. Really happy with support so far and love the speed of the hardware.

      LiquidWeb is probably hammered with support problems regarding the acquisition. I wouldn't expect solid support from them for a while.

  • Well, I decided to go ahead and let them try to figure it out and after almost a month and a half, they finally got the migration done. I guess I'll stay with them for a couple months to try them out.
