Amazon Affiliate Application Declined !

I had applied for Amazon associates and have received this response. From what I understand, there not ok with me using the product images - I'm not getting it - every affiliate normally uses the product image in their own site - how are we supposed to promote a product without using the product image?

Any suggestions please...

Get the images that belong to Amazon.com via the ways described in what you quoted. Do not get them other ways. Do not use images that they display on their sites that are not theirs. If you must, contact the owner of the image and ask permission.

Yes, I am saying that amazon hosts 2 types of images:
    1. images they own
    2. images they do not own but have obtain the right to host on their site (and only that right). Since they only have the right to host them on their site, and not all the rights, they cannot give you the right to use them. Only the person/entity that has the copyright to those images can give anybody any rights.

As far as I see, almost all the products are having different sellers - so I believe it would be really hard if we are not using the images which are not owned by Amazon.

There's only a couple of options with Amazon associates use the images they provide or take your own.

There's no point arguing about it being "really hard" you have a simple choice

    Use it

    Or

    Lose it

I am using the ones that they provide, but not using the API - but manually - somehow, they are not ok with it.

What do you mean by manually?? Taking a screenshot or saving the image & uploading to ur website?? Don't do that ...

Just go the associate portal & get the link to the page/product. Or you can use some plugins to do that.

They don't want you to do it the way you want to do it: "you may obtain them by creating Product Links on Associates Central or through Product Advertising API. Customer product reviews are also available through Product Advertising API." Why are you fighting them? You can only lose, it's their game, so they set the rules.

You either play the way they want you to play, or you find another platform/affiliate program. It is that simple.

These are the two options that Amazon allow.

Use one or the other of them.

Or if you're not bothered about your associates account then don't.

If you're saving those images and hosting them on your own server, don't do it. That's what's triggering the decline.

When you create an image link via their interface, it contains info that Amazon can use to account for where their images are showing. The images themselves are served from Amazon's server, not yours. If you host them yourself, they lose that control, which could jeopardize their right to use the images at all.

If all you need is the image, there are options when obtaining the link to turn off product descriptions, etc so that you are left with a linked image, served from Amazon's servers, with your affiliate link attached. These can be embedded in blog posts, reviews and so on.

You can also get images from the vendor that are not on amazon. All you have to do is ask, most will let you have them if you are promoting their product

Amazon is Amazon because they track everything. EVEN the photos (with embedded links)... you have to play their way since it's their game.

You have to get the picture by using the amazon associates site strap on the top of the Amazon website. If you don't see it there, it means you're not logged in.
