I Just Got My First Commission!

I just got my first ever online commission!!!!

I'm a jumble of emotion. What should I do?

I think I need to contact them and ask if they have any questions. I didn't even sell them directly I'm not sure how they got my link? I'm guess through a facebook page I made.

I'm so excited! It really makes me feel like fb advertising might be the best way to go for me.

I think it is possible they could ask for a refund, but i've emailed them that I will help them and hope they can put it to good use.

When you mean your first commission, I take it that it's an affiliate commission. If so, no. I wouldn't bother them. If they have questions about a refund or any support, it's the product creator/vendor who can do this. Just enjoy the commission. Also, depending on where you got the product from, for example, Clickbank, they will hold the commissions for this reason, so if the customer claims a refund, you'll lose that commission.

Another great way to track your affiliate links to know where they're coming from is to use a link shortening service such as bit.ly. Give the link a name and then you'll know where it's coming from. As it's very important this I personally find, so that you can duplicate your success, and implement on that strategy.

    I hope this has helped.

Good on you for doing that...I do that all the time too. Email my customers and ask them if they need help. Hardly anyone does that anymore. People just get Auto-responder messages. Good on you for adding that personal touch.

I don't think it hurts to reach out and offer a helping hand. It could mean that if you're later recommending other products, they would already know you truly care of their satisfaction and will go through you again.

Keep up the work and best of luck with future commissions!

So you were paying for ads via Facebook? Then you should be able to see more about who and where the click came from. Yes, but in the future, I wouldn't bother. I make many commissions on a daily basis and if I did this, it would take a lot of my time up doing so. But it's up to you.

Good analogy. Tracking is very important. If something works, then you can work upon that method. And if one doesn't, well, we know what to do with that

I'm no expert, but whatever you are promoting create a facbook page for it. fill it with picutures and vids supplied by the product if possible and post daily on it, and run $5 to $20 a week on ads to get started. It's all about targeting in the ads. You need to figure out the people who are most likley to benefit from your product and then make sure you set that all up correctly when making your ads.

Congrats on that first sale.. I remember that feeling, way back in the day, when people sent money in the "mail" checks to be exact, for what I was selling on my website.

Back then not everyone was selling something on the web but getting sales was exciting.

Listen, not trying to rain on your parade here at all but I wouldn't go overboard sending personal emails to everyone or sale you get asking to help. Don't spread yourself too thin and being too eager could potentially scare someone off.

If it's your product just be sure to make yourself known and how you can be reached and that you support their decision and to reach out if they need assistance.

If an affiliate product and you're not sending them to an opt-in page of your own first, which you should be doing by the way to build your list, you could then offer an unadvertised bonus along with your follow up message and support info as well.

Congrats and never let go of that WIN FEELING it can help keep you inspired and motivated.

First of all, I like to say congratulations and then well done!

    Keep up the good work.

Yes, you can run FB ads for as little as $5 USD daily if you know what you are doing.

Though there are other methods of getting more traffic and sales as well.

Congratulations for your first achievement. I can imagine how it feels when we got first money in Internet. May be it $5 or $10 it does not matter. But be calm and hold your emotions and dont over pay to false products. At this time we many do the samemistake to put many more to get more sells but put in the wrong areas. Yes i also recommend fb ad is the best.

    First of all Congratulations.

Usually all the support is done by the company but I would highly recommend if you have their contact information to reach out to them and welcome them. I would also suggest to only do this if you have the knowledge to help them. Your goal is to be as knowledgeable as possible in your niche so that you can be as valuable as possible as the product owner or just as the affiliate.

You're on the right path, grow your confidence and your ability to deliver value. You'll find out that making money online is never about making money, it's strictly about how you can be of service to other people.

    Again, Congratulations!

    Warm Regards,
    - Daniel

First thing I would do is ask them where did they seen your site if you are not already tracking it yourself. The goal is to continue to make money but it starts with knowing where people are are seeing your site at congratulations on making your first commission online.

    Hi Andrew,

    Congrats,

Now repeat that 2-3 times each day and you have yourself a hobby that pays for itself.

Repeat that 10 times a day and you have yourself a job.

Learn to repeat that 100 times a day and you have yourself a small startup business.

This is how real businesses are built, find a way that you can make a profit, repeatedly, and scale up.

    Good luck

You said that you emailed them, so it sounds like they were added to an email list of yours.

Keep building your relationship with them, and offer value to them. You can also find relevant offers to promote to them.

As Gary Vaynerchuk says and also has a book with the same title, "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook." which as I understand means that each jab is offering valuable content and the right hook is a promotion.

You also said that you think this sale came from your facebook ad so now you can rinse & repeat and keep building your email list and making commissions if everything goes well.

Just as some of the other warriors indicated, you need to add tracking to your affiliate or buy links so you know what's working and what's not, and especially how much ROI that you are getting and what to focus on.

Keep your momentum going and keep it up!

    Cheers!

    now what you do

    1) work out how you go that

    2) Use some money to do it again

    3) Upscale your efforts.

    4) Keep building an email list of client to email to make more $$$

    but start at #1 first.

fb VIDEO marketing is very cheap right now like 0.03 cents a view.

So you might be able to advertise there, if you target properly you could go create a few thousands $$ fast.
