Which slogan is better?

Which slogan is better for a site that has to do with Affiliate marketing... :

"Promote other people's products and make money"

or

"Partnerships that pay"

or

(go back to the drawing board) ...or what would you suggest?

Of the two, partnerships that pay is the better option, in my opinion.

If you have a budget, steal a march from Perry Marshall, and try a short PPC campaign.

Run a campaign using a simple set of two ads, with each slogan as a headline. Keep the body copy and url the same for both ads. For this test, it really doesn't matter where you send them - you only want to know which headline gets the most clicks. Run the test until you get 50-100 clicks, and then look at the results.

If one gets a significant number of clicks more than the other (do a quick search - there are a bunch of free calculators that will tell you if the difference is significant - and use 85%-90% confidence level), you have a winner.

If neither gains a statistically significant advantage, either go with your gut or go back to the drawing board. Or let the test run longer to see if you get significant results.

I would not necessarily call the first one a slogan.

    The second one is better.

You should check to make sure it is not already trademarked before you start using it.

It would appear that until and unless you're a huge company then it's really not necessary, unless it's going to be some kind of cornerstone of your marketing campaign.

I like the second over the first. However, without knowing more about the site, it's hard to say how good it is or make a suggestion to what might be better.

ya it's kinda what I figured. I don't even know if slogans are all that in fashion anymore anyway. But I guess it's still one item of many.

I prefer the second one, but like John said you gotta test it.. let the data decide for you.

I can't find the link at the moment, but there is a Jay Abraham video somewhere on YouTube. It's an excerpt from a course or event he did. He is a master copywriter. The other people in the room were mostly professional copywriters.

Jay put several headlines on the screen, and asked the crowd to choose which one would get the best response.

After tallying the votes, Jay gives his choice.

Finally, he divulges the result of the test he ran for the various headlines. No one, out of several dozen professional copywriters, got it right - including Jay Abraham. If memory serves, his choice came in 4th out of 8.

If this group of pros, some of whom are brilliant at what they do, can't predict the market, how are we supposed to do it?

I personally like the first one because it tells me more about what you do. The 2nd one is way too vague. If I saw something that had that as a slogan, I'd just ignore it because it can mean whatever the owner wants it to mean. The first one gives me more insight.
