Is working online that hard?

Is it that hard to make 1000$ a month from working on the internet, though I have no experience or money to invest as a start.

I am able to learn to have skills to work online, but I need the right start.
Can anyone help me to achieve my target above " 1000$ / month"

    Find what you want to do and then go to the sub forum and suck up as much information and put into practice , then rinse and repeat and learn some thing new and do the same again in the next sub forum

    Phew, inevitable newbie question, but l will play nice.

    Ok, l have been online for 9 years and counting, and the best advise l could bistow is, "only deal with hub sites with their own traffic".

    So Fiverr, Graphicriver, (or one of their other ones) or Creativemarket. Maybe Postermywall, but their sales statistics are crap.

    Converting traffic is frickin hard to get, so stay with one of the ones above, and one of the biggest barriers is gone, (took me 6 years to figure that out).

    You may have to learn about programming or taking photo's or graphics, (my one) but you will be 2/3thirds the way there.

    • Fiverr, is good for quick money, but long term a dog.

    • Creative market and Graphicriver, are great long term, as long as you do the right thing the right way?


    After all if taking photo's and selling them was easy then everyone would be doing it, but like most things online a hand full make a packet from it, and probably not because they got in first.

      This is excellent advice.

      I knew a guy who took his passion of sports, turned it into an online blog, and then built a 'sports theme' for wordpress and sold it on ThemeForest.

      Didn't have to do ANY traffic generation and ended up replacing his mid level 5 figure job within a year. All he had to do was customer service/troubleshooting for his customers when they needed it. His earnings have been steadily increasing ever since.

    As a newbie I would suggest that there is a lot of useful information that you can find on this forum. Make use of the search feature using the keywords related to the topics you want to learn about. You will find a ton of good info this way.

    Quite honestly it takes work.

    The other route involves having a webcam and being prepared to do some pretty lewd stuff.

    That still takes work but there are many people making money online through a variety of means

    Just look at how common people with ambition in China are doing it on YY --->

    Pick one way that aligns with your goals.

    Yes, it will be hard as you have mentioned that you also do not have money to invest.

    As most havesuggested, read on forums. Some take courses though. Always practice and test the skills you claim to have learned or will be learning as I'm sure you'll come across new techniques/updates. There will also be site recommendations where you can earn money. Don't be afraid to try them out. Don't be too disappointed if at first it does not work out. Charge it to experience and try again.

    Spend a couple of hours online learning the ideas of bootstrapping.

    Short version - use the free low cost stuff to get started, then reinvest the profits to get better stuff.

    Say you need a domain, hosting and an email service provider.

    A domain is around $10 per year.
    Web hosting can be had for free, but having even a $5 per month shared hosting plan is better. So, around $60 per year.
    For an email service provider, you could start with something like MailChimp's starter plan, which is free for up to, I think, 1000 subscribers. An aweber account is about $20 per month starting out. So, around $240 per year.

    For $310, you can have a good basic starter setup for a full year.

    To bootstrap this starting from nothing, you can do as Robert suggested and sell services. Or you could get a part time gig offline. At even $5/hr, that's only 62 hours to pay for your setup for a year.

    Or, you could break it down monthly. $10 for the domain, plus $25 per month. If you can't figure out how to scratch up $25 every 30 days, $1000 per month is a pipe dream.

    Once you have that covered, you can start reinvesting what you earn into better tools and more effective methods of lead generation.

    At some point, if all goes to plan, your revenue will be $1,000 per month plus the cost of running your business.

    Affiliate marketing is fun, that's what I do for a living. I have a guy in China who makes $15,000 a month USD.

    I think that the majority here don't make $1,000 a month consistently. So yes it's hard.

    However, I know it's possible.

    If you want to know the right way to start, you are going to have to give more information about your skills, interests, what you've done so far, etc. Then someone may be able to help you.

    You'll need some money to at least get started. Dig for change in the couch, work at a fast food restaurant if you have to. You NEED to save up some money to invest. You can't just make something out of nothing. This doesn't apply only to online, but to everything else as well.

    Just be careful not to spend it all in one place

    Without money to invest you will struggle. Cannot build a business without money.

    Start with a job as others have mentioned. If you don't have a skill or talent, even that is going to be painfully slow.

    I have a degree on CS and have bought thousand dollars worth of products and services and have not hit that level yet.
    If it was easy to make 1k, there will no fiverr.com, freelancer.com and upwork.com

    You say you need the right start. You have already done it. You are on WF. Now decide if you are "though" enough.

    As you said you can learn skills, start by researching some of the methods here, such as Freelance, SEO, Programming, etc. and see what kind of skills you most identify to learn.

    Choose one and direct your focus.

    Start studying to master this new skill.

    As you go about learning, go putting it into practice, doing tests.

    One more tip: Only follow people who are experts in this skill you have chosen and analyze how these experts work, their business, etc. You will extract great insights and help mastering increasingly new skill you are learning.

    There is no secret, you must have some kind of skill/knowledge that really generates value to people and helps in some way, so you will make money.

    The more value you generate, the more money you can earn.

    There are a lot of ways you could achieve your target of $1000/month. I will list a few to give you an idea.
    • You could become an affiliate seller for any best selling product on clickbank or JVZoo. This is fairly easy to start.
    • Learn to build websites or iPhone apps and look for job postings in sites like UpWork, Freelancer or other freelance websites. This takes some time and effort and you will have to create a portfolio first.
    • Write a few books and upload to Amazon Kindle store priced at $2.99. You can start earning immediately, but you will have to sell lots of books to get to the $1000/month target.
    • Sell items on eBay or Amazon. You can use drop shipping or resell items high margin products on Amazon or eBay. This is fairly easy to do, but might require to invest some money upfront.
    • Write an eBook or course and sell on Warrior Forum. You can post a WSO and might be able to make more than $1000 a month. But you might have to keep posting new WSO every few months to generate a recurring revenue.
    • Start a blog and build a huge following. Start a blog about something you love and start collecting email addresses. You can accept advertisements, sell affiliate products or sell your own products to your followers.

    These are only a handful of ways you could achieve your target. There are hundreds of ways you could earn $1000/month.

    One advice I would like to give you is - automate or outsource your work as early as possible. You will exhausted if you try to do all your work by yourself.

    No experience is fine but no money to invest is the worse way to tap into internet marketing.

    The momentum, the results and everything you do will simply just be wayyyy to slow and chances are you will quit.

    My advice is to come back when you have at least $1K to invest because you can actually buy the tools required like hosting, autoresponders etc.

    Working online is hard but it's simple, hard in the sense that it takes a lot of efforts and time, simple in the sense that anyone can do as long as they are willing to learn and put action.

    I recommend you to start a website from your passion and promote affiliate products within that

        From my experience working online can be very hard and test you in ways you will not expect.

        Passion is a crucial ingredient when it comes to success, especially the kind of success most people dream of when they are pursuing 'make money online' businesses.

        There are actually a couple different ways you can incorporate passion into your business.

        One would be to take a topic or niche you are passionate about and make that the foundation of your online business.

        Not only does this ensure you are focused on a topic you like, it increases the chances of you sticking with it until you reach success.

        You have to WANT to work on your business, and if it's something you're interested or good at, it makes it so much easier.

        I also believe that the things we are interested in and drawn to are for a reason-- we each have talents and tendencies that, when developed, allow us to grow and fulfill our full potential.

        In this way, your passion can lead you to your purpose, and you can fulfill your purpose by helping people in a way that is unique to you, which can serve as your USP to help you grow a brand. That genuine desire to help others comes through in your work and can attract a very loyal following.

        The trick is to let your passion guide you, then use it in conjunction with a proven money making method to build a real business. Let it guide you, then find out what products you can sell to help people solve problems within your niche. Let it guide you, then let the people in your niche tell you what they want, need, and are willing to pay for. Then give it to them!

        I think what kills it for most people is that they focus more on making money instead of helping others. When you're building a business based on passion and then let the concept of money stress you out, it ruins the energy and enjoyment of your passion. It's no longer about the passion.

        If you set up a money making system and focus on enjoying your passion and using it as a way to help others, you are then living with purpose and 'living the dream'.

        Another way to incorporate passion is if you have a passion for success, a passion for growth and a good work ethic.

        Not as many people will be able to tap into passion in this way, but if you can, then you can make your business about almost anything (as long as you can drive targeted traffic to a converting offer consistently).

        In this case your business doesn't have to revolve around your passion because the act of building your business will provide that for you.

        But you need one or the other... you need passion in some form if you want to make it, especially if you want to make it big.

            By passion I simply mean strong emotion. That strong emotion is what drives you and motivates you from day to day to take action. It's what makes you keep going when you just want to throw in the towel and quit. It's what makes you not accept anything less than success.

            It can come in many forms, and when you really connect with it you can use it as fuel to meet and exceed your goals.

    For many people who confess that "working on your passion" kills the passion (and I'm one of them), much depends on the form of that passion.

    Some of us have passions that we indulge in to get away from "helping people", something that's ours, something where we can turn inward and focus on ourselves.

    Such passions make for lousy businesses.

    On the other hand, if you passion involves a cause centered on helping people, you can follow your passion and turn it into a successful business. Look at John Walsh (of 'America's Most Wanted' and Justice Network fame). His child was killed by a criminal, and Walsh devoted himself to efforts to make sure criminals were brought to justice and innocent people didn't become victims. He turned that passion into a lucrative TV career.

    Or look at Bob Ross, the guy who taught painting on PBS. Had his passion been simply smearing paint on canvas, he'd have burned out early. But his passion to enable others to learn to create art for themselves turned into a long running TV series (along with sales of DVDs and such).

    So before launching yourself on the path to follow your passion, take a look at what you get from that passion. If turning it into a business would take away the main benefits you get from it, keep looking for another business niche. If spreading the word and helping other people would enhance your passion, roll up your sleeves and get to work.

          There is usually more than one road to most destinations.

          I wasn't aware that you are a clinical psychologist.
          Some things are just common sense. Hitler loved gassing people. Was that a passion or a sick compulsion. Do you need to be a clinical psychologist to come up with an answer for that? I didn't think so. Compulsions come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Being able to discern them is a helpful skill as you navigate life.

          Arguing for argument's sake is not fruitful, unless of course you have a passion for wasting precious time. We all measure personal success in different ways. :-)

      Very interesting point John.

      I can definitely see where a passion like this would be best kept as is. You want to be able to do it when you want to, not because you have to.

      As long as you can tap into passion in another way then you'll be able to reap the rewards (like motivation, focus, consistency, right mindset, etc).

      At the core of most businesses they are centered around helping people do something. I'm a strong advocate that passion fuels prosperity, so if you can fuse that into your business then it (and you) will become all the more better for it.

      I believe most passions can somehow be turned into a way to help others and make money too.

      John it seems like you have a passion for helping people make money online, at least as a contributor on this forum, which you may have unintentionally woven into the foundation of your business (maybe by helping to build your brand or market and drive traffic? --just guessing, not sure if how you make your money is at all related to your activities in this forum.)

    I'll be honest and tell you that starting an online business is one of the hardest things you can do with your life.

    I suggest to most people when getting started to find a skill that you can sell online to make money from. Doing this will teach you the basic skills you need to run an online business. Now I'll tell you to be prepared to work hard. Be ready to have nights where you don't get much sleep. If this sounds like something you can't handle then maybe an online business is not the right thing for you right now.

    I have been working online for the past 15 years now and decided to return to the normal job market as a High school teacher. What I make in a month is what I would make in a weekend working from home and I don't have to leave my house. The teaching income is sure while the other depends on less certain sources. My advice is that you don't expect online to be "easier" than a normal job--a matter of attitude--otherwise you will be disappointed.

    DISCLAIMER: It took years for me to reach the place where I could make that income in a aweekend.

    Its actually very hard to make "a little" online. Why? Because everyone has access to everything. The money doesn't distribute evenly among the millions of online entrepreneurs and the inequalities are even higher than in the "real world". The top Fiverr gigs earn the most money, the top Google sites get most clicks, the top Amazon listings get most sales.

    The internet doesn't really have room for "average" people if you enter an overcrowded market like, for example, super simple logo designs. If any client can hire someone with 5,000 reviews and better skills who is just one click away, why would he hire you?

    This is where thinking out of the box comes in. If following a step-by-step guide was the answer to all this then obviously it won't be hard at all. You need to understand the industry you decide to work in to get a feeling of what can be improved or what is missing. When you figure something out there is enormous potential to make money. If you just do the same as everyone else then its more or less luck. Or at least it takes a very long time.

    I'm sure this has been said already but since this thread is at the very top and I'm not bumping it with this response, I'll say it anyways.

    Difficulty is relevant. It may be hard for you, it may not be. Really depends on many factors, such as your skills, abilities, network, business sense, etc.

    It's like anything else, not all people are created equal. Dunking a basketball is hard for me (actually impossible these days) but not for Lebron James, he has a slightly different skill set than I do.

    If you have no money to invest, offer your skills/services to others that will pay for them.

    Use that money to build your business.

    Repeat until the business is paying you more than you are getting from work you are doing for others (or raise your prices).

    If you try and start from scratch with ZERO resources you are going to have some frustrating times ahead as you have no leverage outside of your own 'sweat equity'.

    If you have ongoing commitments (i.e. bills) you will become overwhelmed with stress/worry before you break-through to the level of income you need.

    So look at going Freelance while you are building a business in your spare time. My 2 CENTS.
