Best ways to make money online legitimately?

My Google AdSense account was banned over 10 years ago so that's not an option. I'm also not interested in promoting offers that are essentially snake oil. I'm not interested in adult or gambling. What's the best way to go about this legitimately?

Just as you took action to create an account at Warrior Forum, I recommend that you take action to use the search bar and search yourself by methods.

No one will come out and say: "Hey, I've researched and here are 10 legitimate methods to make money online for you to read and test."

If you really want to get results in this market, here's one of the lessons: Be proactive.

I understand what you're saying. I'm just looking for basic advice. I'm not expecting someone to tell me exactly what I need to do or to walk me through what to do step by step. I'm just hoping someone can tell me what's possible and to maybe get some advice that can point me in the right direction.

I'd like to emphasize that I'm looking to do something that's legitimate. I'm not interested in spinning bad products just because they make money.

What skills do you have or would you like to learn? SEO, Web Design, Freelance, CopyWriting ??

I believe it's important to stay focused on only one thing at least at the beginning to get results and not get paralyzed like 98%.

By choosing just one of the many skills that exist to make money, it is much easier to find a direction/method to practice.

Basic advice would be to start with affiliate marketing. By the sounds of it, you probably would not want to promote digital products as any of them can be labeled as 'bad products' since customers don't take action anyway.

I recommend you head over to Amazon and start from there.

I can tell you what I have been doing for the past 16 years and has been working.

I have been doing CPA / affiliate marketing, I just do it a bit differently than most.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get caught up solely on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same and possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

Bottom line: it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

I drive traffic by acquiring 3rd party email data, which is data that the users are interested in a specific vertical(niche)and have given permission to receive messages from third parties. You get the opt-in record and it's 100% can-spam compliant.

So by acquiring data, I'm building assets that I then own and can market to over and over at very low cost. However, 3rd party data will rarely be as responsive as a high-quality opt-in list you build yourself. But it really doesn't matter because it is much cheaper and highly scalable compared to convention list building.

So the key to making it work is to always be collecting your opens / clickers, segmenting, and removing unresponsive users. That way over time you are building smaller, but more responsive lists that you should eventually be able to send less and make more with each mailing. Essentially you are converting the data from quantity to quality (cost effectively)..

Basically, I monetize the data using PPL offers because they offer the path of least resistance to generating conversions and converting the data into cash producing assets.

Obviously, there is far more to it, but done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

    Something to think about.

Diablo, I really enjoyed your post. 1 question.....Could you give me more information about where to aquire good 3rd party data (I'm assuming you mean e-mail addresses) and also, do you do your own list building, or do you only utilize the 3rd party data?

      Thanks,
      Kieth

Yes, I was referring to email addresses. But you get the opt-in record, not just the email. Which can vary. At a minimum, you get email, IP, timestamp and source url. Typically you also get the first and last name as well. There is also data where you get the complete form submission the user made, which could contain much much more information.

For my PPL - lead generation business, I mainly work with 3rd party data because I can get fresh / targeted data specifically for many of the PPL verticals I promote. But I also generate real-time co-reg data targeting specific PPL offers.

I also manage / monetize other companies opt-in data on a profit sharing basis.

I do some mainstream list building, but the bulk of what I do is the above.

Acquiring 3rd party data is not for everyone. Building your own opt-in list may make more sense depending on what you are promoting.

  • Before anything, you need to find out what you are good at. If copywriting interests you, you can start selling your services on places like Fiverr and here on the Warrior Forum as well. But remember, you will need to give it some. You will need to work hard and be patient until you see some good money coming in.

I suggest you find a 'mentor' or an authority figure or website that you would want to own yourself.

Explore and find something that makes you excited.

What fits in with your ultimate life goals?

Get a clear vision of the kind of business you want to build online, find a good example, and then model yourself after them.

If copywriting is your thing, find a leader in that field who resonates with you, and do as they do. Use them as inspiration and guidance along the way.

It's not even something you have to pay for-- just observe what type of products they sell, how they get clients or customers, and sign up for their email list and see how they operate. That will give you the info you'll need to set up your foundation and get started.

Focus on getting the word out and selling either your services or a guide that solves a relatively simple yet common problem.

Continue to drive traffic to your offers, and build a brand through blogging, social media, and partnerships (like podcast interviews, guest posting, or webinars) for long-lasting presence and success.

It's a simple yet time-tested way to build a successful business online!

I used to sell on Amazon, right now I dropship from aliexpress and don't sell on Amazon anymore.

So you think the drop shipping thing is easier than Kindle publishing to get started for a newbie or anyone else?

I'm asking this because you had a pretty good program for Kindle publishing and have seemed to always have the opinion that selling Kindle books is the best and fastest way to get started.

But lately, I've seen you pushing the Shopify stuff more and more.

So, I'm legitimately curious when someone that seems to be doing well in one thing completely switches gears.

I've not looked into selling physical products much but may decide to look into it if this is what you are saying.

          Thanks.

Basically, Things have changed on Amazon. It is way harder to be successful, especially with Kindle publishing. Someone can still make good money, but I found a better way, and this way is E-commerce.

IMO E-commerce using Shopify is gold right now.

I've always found direct sales of products to be best (books on Amazon and Lulu, art/photography on Zazzle, crafts on etsy, random stuff on eBay, etc.), those being linked to from articles on topic with the product in question.

I've also found if you have a connection to local businesses, and have local made products, that boosts local sales (sales to locals makes up most of my income). Locals like buying local photography, local art, local crafts, local authors.

Of course dealing local means you'll need as much, if not more, offline marketing then online marketing (signs, flyers, business cards, etc)

I know I have students that comes to me looking for the holy grail...

The only thing changed since 2001 is social media, but the same chit still works.

LEADS <> FOLLOWUP <> EMAIL MARKETING

this stuff is still as gold as it was 2 years ago, and back 10 years ago.

Build your list, help that list, and make money that way. I am doing $600 USD per day doing this, and it all comes from using and working smarter....and not going out there and searching for the holy grail.

The same ole stuff of making money with a list is working just as well as it did 7 years ago, no matter what anyone out there tells you.

    LEAD FLOW <> Sales FUNNEL <> $$$

This is what is brining in sales every day to me, and I just wake up each day to sales and check my gmail to see what worked, and what didnt.

So your best bet, is build a list and help them .... as best you can. Do this right and you will be very successful by the end of this year.
