Promoting ClickBank Fitness Products

Anyone notice a distinct and really bad seasonality when promoting CB fitness/diet products?

Been an odd couple years...

From May - August, losing a ton of money promoting diet/fitness products then September to April making money like it grows on trees....

This April did 5 figures with diet info products...

Same audience, same traffic source, same landing pages, etc..

Only thing that changed was the calendar (May) and barely breaking even/losing money every day..

Anyone else notice this (same thing happened last year to us)?

Diet and fitness products have always had some degree of seasonality. Typical highs include the end of the year (think New Year resolutions) and the beginning of the summer bathing suit season.

Agreed.. but what we see is well beyond that for some reason..

Kicked butt in April when we started running Fb PPC traffic to our sales page.

We did $37 CPA, AOV of $52 with $67 (7day) LTV.

Basically we made $30 profit for ever sale within 7 days.

Did $20k total in pure profit in April.

Problem is so far in May (same landing page, same audience, same CTR/CPC on ads, etc) and we are struggling to get $67 CPA for the same $67 LTV.

Makes zero sense since absolutely nothing else changed but the calendar.

Reduced all the ad spend to peanuts until we can figure out whats going on.

No clue what to do from here as we know everything was working amazingly well in April but fell off a cliff and its only May.

Aside form the obvious seasonality, try a new angle/landing page. See what landers other people are running in the weight loss niche right now and use that as reference. I would split test at least 2 new pages before you give up on the offer especially after such a strong previous month. Are you running the offer straight from CB or through a CPA network? If a CPA network that can explain a lot of the ups and downs in conversions.

Do you have affiliates promoting it for you as well? The market may have become saturated.

FYI - I worked for many years as a fitness center manager and trainer. One of the very obvious tendencies that was a given is that fitness is an extremely seasonal business. Since it is like this in the physical world I would suggest it will be much like this in the digital world as well.

I see it mentioned above that you should "go else where" - I disagree, since fitness is an on going evergreen business I would suggest that you be persistent and keep working on it.
