What is the difference between shared hosting and VPS and how big of a difference is it? When should I consider shared hosting and when consider using VPS?

a good vps is awesome, you have more speed (not 300 site on a single shared server) and more power (root access etc..)
so worth my trouble, i`ll never go back to shared hosting.

Is it self-managed or fully managed? How easy or difficult to use?

Well shared hosting has some limitations. When your website grows, it will need more server resources and bandwidth. Shared hosting won't give you that. So, you have to move on to VPS. You can always go with managed VPS hosting.

If you don't get more than 50-100 visitors a day, I don't think there's any point to upgrade yet. You should consider shared hosting when starting out and are low on funds, but as soon as you start getting more traffic and need more resources, it's time to upgrade. Also depends on what type of site you have, like a simple blog or a more advanced e-commerce platform
