What benefit is there for someone to post your material?

Hi,
I just discovered a site that has posted all copies of my magazine, which is copyrighted, without my consent. While I don't appreciate them doing this, I can't help wondering what benefit there is to them, since there is no link going to any external site. They only go back to that issue on their site. There is one very small link to my actual site, but the others don't go there.

The thing is, the site claims to be in top 100,000 Alexa, which can be a good thing for me as a back link, so I'm debating getting them to remove my stuff. There are a number of other magazines of high quality (it appears) on the site.

I've contacted the site owner and they've agreed to have it removed and let the person who posted it know that they have violated the copyright.

My magazine was offered strictly to people who signed up for it, so they must have signed up, taken the material, and posted it there.

What would you do? Is this one of those cases where we can both win? As I said, other than providing material for that site, the only other benefit to them is the apparently unrelated ads that display on top of each page. At this point, I don't know if they posted it themselves or one of their users did.

Thanks.
Sylvia
