You can do it all for free by using wordpress.

I did my first sale online by setting up a little sales funnel with wordpress and sold my products.

I still use free tools to run most of my business.

      Hi Paolo,
could you explain this a bit, I am very interested in this too,
since I still learning, it's very important to begin with free tools for the the sake of experience, once get familiar with the back-end sales mechanism and how things work, at that stage must upgrade to a paid service and get more sales as professional,
will be appreciate if you can provide little more details, step by step, what to do first, second, then next and so on..
As well, I would ask you about the source of traffic, solos ads or google or else? which one really works with higher conversion rate? thanks

Sorry to just jump on this.

But if your concerned about free stuff to learn and then you talk about paid traffic and conversion rates then I'm a little confused as you have jumped about 3 chapters of the learning handbook.

No matter how you generate a capture page the opt-in page can range from 20% to 60% usually in the middle of that. I would highly recommend you not using solo ads as they are pretty poor.

I personally find having an external lead generation tool better as a wordpress website could crash with high volumes of traffic going through it, especially if your host cannot handle it. I know people who paid for that mistake.

I know a fair number of people who would disagree about that statement on solo ads.

The truth with solo ads is that results will differ by vendor and how that list responds to the offer presented.

You need a high convering squeeze page + test to see which vendors you are getting good results with.

To say solo ads are poor is doing that traffic source a huge disservice.

There are vendors that send excellent quality traffic and those that don't.

A marketers job is to test so they know which traffic sources are producing results.

If you are paying for traffic and not tracking your results you should not be paying for traffic anyway.

Optimizepress is a one time fee, I believe. Takes some getting used to but very easy once you figure it out.

I just made one using a free Wordpress plugin called Landing Page Rockstar. It's currently in Beta so there may be a few bugs but it was very easy to use.

Stop being tight with money. Budget or not should have the drive to want the tool to allow you to get the best opt-in rates, the best auto responder then all you do is drive traffic through it.

Most of the items you mention above have affiliate programs so earn as you use too.

@tripwhite - You create the opt-in form with the Autoresponder you are using (usually that is either AWeber or GetResponse). You are going to need an autoresponder service if you plan on building a list in your niche. Once you have created the form it will give you a piece of code you copy and paste into your squeeze page. When a visitor arrives at your squeeze page they will see the opt-in form at which point they will take one of two actions. They will either enter their email and opt-in or they will leave the page.

I assume you are using an autoresponder? If not, Getresponse have a squeeze page builder built in that is pretty good.
