Your "Aha" Moment

Hi Warriors. Just wanted to check in with you and ask a serious question. What was the moment that it clicked for you. The instant you knew that this would be a hit? When the money started to come in and you noticed "that's" the reason why. I would love to hear about your experiences as I think we can all grow and learn from this. I personally think my moment is when I started realizing how lucrative affiliate marketing and adsense can be if done right. But, I think my best moment is yet to come. I'm sure some of the more experienced members here have some awesome stories to share about your "aha" moment. Let's hear em warriors! Thx.

  • Back in the late 90's, I was reading an issue of Entrepreneur magazine and on the last page before the back cover was a little article. Actually, it was only a couple paragraphs long. It was about a guy who was using email to generate free leads for his business.

Knowing the value of leads for businesses a huge light bulb went off!!! After spending some time figuring out how to gather data and mail (which was after I figured out what the internet / email was). Did some testing and it worked. So I contacted a friend who was buying leads generated from TV ads and offered to generate the exact same leads at a discount. Which of course he was interested, the only concern was they needed to be as good of quality.

Needless to say, it was a huge success. Ever since then, I've been monetizing data / generating leads.

    • That's awesome man. It was harder then, but at the same time the market wasn't so saturated. Also, you're making my wheels spin now for generating leads. Thx for the input bud.

  • Some people have ah-ha moments. I didn't. There really was no specific moment that I knew I could be profitable with Internet business. I have spent a career in small business development and I knew that I could use my experience with the Internet as my vehicle to move from the corporate world to entrepreneurship. So far, so good.

  • Hi,
i am full time freelancer & earn. An aveage income $1200-$1500. Some time more than $1500 when do over time.

But my 'aha' moment was when i refer service t my new client. for reffring 5-6 clients i earned $555. Before that i never try to refer that service to my clients because i thought i will earn very few bucks. But once i read in a blog and start referring and earned that amount like a bonus without do any effort. that was my aha moment.
  • Way back in 2008, during the Hostgator Black Friday sale. The day I made close to $2k in commissions just by letting people know on blogs and forums that they had a 24-hour 75% discount. Those days, such steep discounts were unheard of.
Up until then, I had seen some success - so it was building up to that moment. After that, I knew for a fact I wouldn't want to work at a full-time job that pays $300 a month.

  • Like Steve, I did not have an "a ha" moment. But I did realize this simple mantra: meet people.

Meet people. Meet people. Meet people. Meet more folks daily. Not like some mad desperate rush. But a controlled, measured, patient march, meeting and helping people who share your same interests.

I have only been active on Warrior for the past few months - after being an active user years ago - but get emails and direct messages from folks regularly, and traffic to my blog, all from aspiring or current Warriors. All because I meet people and help folks and share my thoughts here on a daily basis.

    Meet people. Help people.

I can't remember specifically when it happened. (Just something that happened as I evolved in Life maybe) ... However providing tremendous value to People that really helps them in Life.

    • Bingo On the heels of my experience. Provide tremendous value. Become valuable. Simple formula that works well and that either provides the one powerful shift or moment, or just nudges you in the direction of something fun and freeing.

I am genuinely trying to embody this attitude on Warrior over the past few months. So far, so good. Give freely and receive more easily.

  • For me it was when I generated my first lead. In the beginning I have tried so many products without success and lost quite a lot (for me back than) money. However, I never though of my money as wasted but as invested, as I gained priceless skills and know-how!

At the end I tried a completely new niche and after generating my first lead I was sure I will make it work! This changed my life completely and since then I am enjoying an incredible nomad lifestyle, traveling the world and having fun!

  • I still don't feel like I totally "got it". I'm learning everyday, and am trying to improve my business skills daily. The moment that got me hooked to all this online stuff was when I realized... shit... I can throw up a page, put some copy on it, send some people to it, and make money. That blew me away
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Well...I wrote an ebook back in 2005. I called it Press Release Magic. I put the thing on Clickbank..not much happened

I then hired a copywriter...did a WSO and relaunch on Clickbank....boom 50K in one month...

aha COPY is important. But what more important is my email list nowadays

  • My AHA moment was when after testing many things finally found great ways to earn good money and work fully from home and full freedom.

    "Only hard work pays off"
  • The moment when I got my first PayPal payment. Never gonna forget that rush

Or when I did my first launch and as soon as people started mailing, sales notifications were flooding it. This was my second AHA moment

  • thats just the wrong mindset, its action + results + work + failure + quitting + starting over + more results + emotional stuff + pain + action + results + failure + more failure = long term compounded success

    i hope this helps
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I haven't had crazy success yet, but I have had some, in small little victories as I keep grinding.

For me, it couldn't be an AHA moment. Everytime I make and market something new, all of my losses, failures, and mistakes come to mind, which evolves the way I create content.
  • For me it was back in 2006. I had written an eBook on the topic of being a salesman. I sold a few copies, then one day a customer asked if I offered resale rights to my work. At that time I had no clue what this even meant.

After conducting a few searches I realized this was a fairly untapped market, especially with digital products. So I got busy, wrote more eBooks and sold those with resale rights. I was then asked if I offered a membership, and well that was the ticket.

I started a daily additions membership, where members could request products to be added, which at the time was unheard of. The whole PLR and RR scene really took off, and the membership grew massively. Like in any niche, others came along and practically cloned my ideas, which did suck, but I at least started something.

So that was my a-ha moment.

    • 2006 wasn't really the start of the whole PLR and RR scene. Many people did that much before that. Not many have lasted though like you have.

      Cheers!
