    Hi and welcome Bruce!

Your question is tough to answer. It really depends what you would like to get into. I don't know where you at right now but it sounds like you are writing article after article and you're getting sick of it.

I think what you should do now is actually promote your articles. This way you can get them to rank higher and they will get views consistently.

So to answer your question you might want to move on to learn about creating quality backlinks, where to get them and how to promote your articles.

Once you know how to promote them you can use the same techniques to build backlinks to your money site or blog or whatever you want to do down the road.

    I hope I could help.

    Cheers,

    Mario

Isn't Article Marketing a form of affiliate marketing to you? What I can truly recommend to you is Ed Dale's Thirty Day Challenge. In there they create a blog in front of your eyes. You will learn a lot about affiliate marketing, this will take you to the next level. It's high quality content and it's free.

I was a Powerseller on Ebay but I moved on to Internet Marketing. There are still a lot of people making good money but it wasn't the right thing for me anymore. The fees got to high and it was such a pain to handle the inventory, deal with customs, taking pictures and so forth.

With affiliate marketing I have everything autmomated and the merchant handles the customer service. So if I were you I'd stick with IM instead of Ebay.

      Cheers and good luck!

Try some video marketing. Get a camera (flip mino HD) and just start jabbering, upload to youtube with the right keywords and ask people to visit your blog/website/whatever.

    Works for me, really well!

I wonder whether it would add value to this discussion when I point out the difference between revenue models and traffic generation methods.

Some of the revenue models are:

    - Selling own products (or products you have rights to) as a vendor
    - Promoting other people's products as an affiliate and earn commissions
    - Publishing free contents as an online publisher or a blogger and earn advertising fees (own advertising program or third party advertising programs such as AdSense)
    - Publishing paid content as a membership site owner and earn subscription fee.
    - Providing service for fee (such as writing articles and programming)

Some of the traffic generation methods are:

    - SEO
    - PPC
    - Backlinks
    - Article marketing
    - List building and email marketing

Most traffic generation methods require a list of keyword phrases and therefore keyword research is a must regardless of the traffic generation method that you choose.

Back to OP, when you mentioned article marketing, do you do it as a traffic generation method or a revenue model. I assume it's the former (please correct me if I'm wrong).

IMO, PPC might be less time consuming compared to article marketing. But PPC is a paid method while article marketing can be free (without considering time spent) unless you outsource the writing part of it.

BTW, I also think that affiliate marketing is a suitable revenue model for a newbie. You don't have to worry about product creation, product fulfillment, and customer service among other things.

Regardless of the revenue model that you decided to focus on, you still need to drive traffic to your own website or the vendor's website.

I am also fairly new here but I would like to say that forums and blogs aren't near so time consuming and can be very powerful marketing methods.

    Hi Bruce,

With article, you could include a link in your resource box to point to another website (yours or one you're affiliated with). People whom visited your article page might click on that link and being redirected to the corresponding website.

That website might be promoting your own product or other people's product. If there's the case, I'd regard article marketing as a traffic generation method.

In your case, how do you make use of article marketing as a revenue model? If you don't mind to share a bit.
