How do I review a dating site?

I have been asked by a friend to review a dating site?

At the moment I am not sure how to do it, what should I include and what should I say?

I have looked online but I cannot really see any decent examples. Does anyone here have any tips or experiences to share with me regarding the reviewing of a dating site?

Any tips or suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks

Put dating review into the likes of Ezine etc and see what they are doing.

Alternatively - you could look for a review of any other product or service and see what layout they use.

Personally, i'd probably go for something like this:

How you stumbled across it and why you joined (remember you might have to make this stuff up if you have not actually joined etc)
    Functionality of the site
    Features for members
Your personal experience and what you gained from it
    Cost and value for money
A Conclusion that covers most of the above in a paragraph or two.

    Hopefully that helps?

Your first suggestion is a good idea. If you do "make this stuff up" and pass it off as non-fiction, that actually is illegal. While it may be doubtful that anybody will call you on it, if they do ... fines started at about 150,000 USD last time I looked.

Good advice there, but I want to tell the truth and give a decent review because its my name at the end of the review so I need to ensure it is true, but the warning is important

What are the sites you're reviewing?
    • are they geared more toward younger people, middle age, or older?
    • are they for dating to find a long term partner?
    • are they for dating to find a partner just for a night? if you know what i mean.
    • what type of lifestyle?
these are just some of the things I will look for and just tell what the site about? Hope this helps.

    Hi Friend ,
Modern Man is a dating site, full of tips and tricks for successful dating. You are bound to the site extremely interesting and helpful. You can even refer the site to some of your acquaintances, like a friend did to me.

The reason you don't know what to say is because you haven't used it.

In which case - you're not qualified to review it and anything you write will be BS for the sake of it.

Why doesn't your friend just get some of the users to give feedback/reviews in exchange for reduced membership fees?

This should be simple. Having to make something up is what's complicating it.

Make sure you match the elements of the review with the 'hot buttons' of the target market. It'll take some market research.
