I'm new and starting out- can I get some advice?

Thank you for reading this.

I looked into internet marketing and found myself wanting to take a chance at learning something new and earn a profit.

I looked already into aspects such as clickbank, clicksure, etc.. but I wanted to know what the best websites are to begin my journey and what I should know from people more intelligent in this market than me.

I don't have a start budget or a profit margin I want to reach because I want to know what is needed and realistic from other.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I actually just posted a thread on this with some helpful starter guides and tips for absolute beginners.

You should be able to find it in the main internet marketing forum, but here's the link just in case

Not trying to promote myself or anything, it's just a topic very much related to the question you just popped.

Anyway, hope you find it helpful, there's a lot of ground to cover for anyone just starting out. But some general advice I give beginners is this:

    1. Start small, grow big - Meaning you shouldn't start a membership site the first thing you do.
    2. Take it all 1 step at a time - With today's extremely saturated online marketing industry, there's a good chance you'll suffer from information overload or feel overwhelmed by all the steps you must go through. 1 task, 1 step, 1 thought at a time.
    3. Trust the numbers - People can lie, cheat and steal but numbers are always objective and neutral.

For more practical advice and steps to take, look through the guides posted in the link above.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

    Karl

    hey newbie

    great question..

As a newbie you will be easily overwhelmed mainly because the online business right now is

saturated and people will try to pull you to the right and to the left but dont go for it ...just focus on your

niche and what you have to do to generate sales
    .
1..To be a successful online marketer be passionate about your first niche ... take some time and look

around at 1 or 2 niches.

    2. once you decide to go with that first niche stay with it until you start making some sales.. after you

start making sales then you can add a 2nd

    3. you will find every body online flooding your inbox with offers, detete them all for now ..

    4. to start you want get a landing page or a blog and start to market your niche right away..after you start to market then you can educate your self about the internet or other things
5 get to know facebook groups real well ...you can market your niche from here and get lots of free traffic from this site

    good luck
    ok

    Welcome to WF, Blanca.

You need to start with a simple and solid business plan. The aim is not only to turn an eventual profit, but to create a venture that will both educate and motivate. Most newcomers fail. If you're smart, and you certainly seem to be, that doesn't need to happen, though. By starting out simple, then, you have more chance of success and that success will end up spurring you on to stick around and develop a wider portfolio of businesses. The typical newcomer will start a business and fail and that failure will usually spell the end of their online career; the newcomer takes off, frustrated, never to return. If possible, we won't let that happen to you. But the hard work (as you'll already know) is all on you. That being said, let me see if I can steer you right.

I suggest you select one of two possible types of business:
    1. A niche list.
    2. A niche blog.
In either case, you need to choose the right niche. Right niche?

In the case of "simple and solid" the right type of niche has certain characteristics:
    • Evergreen (always in demand).
    • The audience needs help, not just wants help.
    • Good affiliate offers (good for you and the consumer).
    • Diverse affiliate offers (multiple sales to consumer).
    • You have passion for the niche topic.
    • You can, with authority, create material for the niche.
    • PPL (free join) offers are ideal (but not necessary).
If you select either business model, plus a niche based on the above criteria, you're starting on the right path. You'll have a business with potential. You'll have a business that you'll enjoy operating. You'll have a business that you can operate. No one but yourself can decide on the niche, because no one else understands your passions, knowledge, and expertise. The first pitfall for newbies, you see, is hopping into a niche because other marketers are doing well with it. If I were to create a thread today about promoting free offers (PPL) for online gaming, you'd have hundreds or thousands of newcomers endeavouring to do the same thing. Most would fail. I see it time and time again, so don't you make the same mistake.

Decide on the above and then use Warrior Forum to learn a few operational basics for those models:
    • How to setup a Wordpress Blog or a Squeeze Page.
    • How to select affiliate networks and offers.
    • How to write the right type of articles.
    • How to monetize and optimize for conversions.
    • How to grow your brand on socials.
    • How to grow your brand on Youtube.
    • How to generate free traffic.
    • How to generate paid traffic.
Understanding those basics should help you succeed. Nothing is guaranteed, but you're certainly doing everything recommended to make it happen. Best of luck, and if you have more questions, just ask away.

Even though I'm not the thread starter, I'd like to thank you Tom for this insightful post.

You seem to get the idea behind posting valuable content, even though it eats up some of your time.

      Keep it up!

There are 'more experienced' and 'more knowledgeable' - there is working hard and working smart...and knowing the difference.

There are newbies trying to learn - and some trying to sell dreams of wealth.

Take note of this point Kay made Blanca; some work really hard doing failing stuff. Chasing riches. Trying to get rich quick. Throwing money at problems. They struggle for years. This is the majority of IMers.

A few folks work intelligently and persistently, solving problems, sharing value (for free, through a blog), promoting other IMers, building bonds. This is the crowd that builds profitable businesses online.

Blanca I'd scroll through these forums, take notes, learn, then take it offsite and learn from the more experienced Warriors. Visit their blogs. Sign up for their lists. Gravitate toward 1-3 mentors who are offering value, who are regular contributors, who are just good teachers. They can help you focus on creating value and building friendships, the cornerstones of any successful IM campaign.

Some basic education is required first. I would say do a research of who are the most famous internet marketers and pick the one you like the most as your tutor. Take his/her online course and do exactly what they teach you.
