Email Marketing vs Social Media Marketing

I know that social media in this generation is powerful, please consider the following:
  1. Which is more effective to attract audience or better way to promote a product?
  2. Which is more in demand or have more employers that seeks?
  3. And which gives a marketer more income or more expensive for an employer?

    Email marketing is A1.

Social media marketing can be effective over the long haul but make list building A1.

Now....email marketing in and of itself will not grow you a successful online business. Solving folk's specific problems through the emails you send - via text only emails or blog posts published on your Wordpress blog - is the juice that makes all go. Personalizing emails, being transparent, offering 1 to 1 support, all make list building valuable.

The two things are not mutually exclusive. In fact, just the opposite. And, in my opinion, and speaking from 22 years of experience, your best option is to embrace both email marketing and social media marketing. To do otherwise is to leave money on the table. A lot of money. (On a very big table.)

If you want me to explain, just say the word.

    Why not do both?

I wouldn't even consider picking one or doing a pros and cons. But let me answer your questions accordingly:

    1. Email marketing most likely attracts more quality leads and is an easier way to promote recurring products.
    2. Both, any company and business owner is utilizing both social media marketing and email marketing (if not then they should).
    3. Email marketing at its core has more potential for a higher revenue, but social media marketing can be effectively combined with your email marketing campaign in order to increase conversions.

    Hope this helped!

    Regards,

    Karl

Karl, you have a great approach!

I agree that it is both!

The only difference is that I use social media marketing to grow and market and while I'm gaining traffic, all the social media platforms that I need to collect email from are doing it. But yes both ends are crucial because when you find a client and have their real email address they become part of your bloodline (residual, whatever you want to call it).

Both are good and very effective for marketing if you have targeted social media followers and targeted email list that you build from your own web page.

If you don't have own email list or buy from third party then the result would be zero.

If you don't have own social network / followers they buying marketing campaign from third party would be effective if their followers are from your targeted market.

Actually, social media marketing has been introduced to alternate email marketing, which in the end will make you switch your independent email system into their own email system, so they can grab your money more. The fact is you still need the email marketing to support your social media marketing.

There's no right or wrong answer here, it's like asking "How long is a piece of string?".

Both work, both are effective and produce results for marketers. However, you approach them slightly differently and could potentially use social media to gain a ton of organic traffic through social sharing.

Hmm, I don't think you can make such comparison. The way I see it, you need Social Media Marketing to get more leads in order to do email marketing. They are connected.

Email Marketing vs Social Media Marketing
    This is an unfair fight.

One is a way to generate traffic, the other is a way to manage traffic you've already acquired.

Which have highest in demand or have more employers that seek?
And which makes a marketer more income and more expensive for a customer?

While social media marketing is potentially the fastest way to build your email list, email marketing is potentially the fastest to make your first profits as emails sent from a marketer they requested for information are received with more reception.

As compared with marketers who just sent emails randomly.

    Say solo ads or safelists.

Without building any connection with his subscribers whatsoever.

Here are 2 videos that will give you a better understanding:

I think that you have some great answers here. List building is in my opinion the bread and butter behind any business online, especially when you have an effective sales funnel that helps you establish deep rapport and credibility with your subscribers from day one. Social media goes hand in hand because, just like gary vee said, social media is basically just a slang term for the "current state of the internet" . The internet is just a medium of getting your message out and a place to gather subscribers for your email marketing. So why not consider using social media to grown your list? You can also use your email marketing efforts to redirect your subscribers to your social media platforms.

    Hi,

Both marketing types are different and have their own values. Having social media presence is now important. Emails are basically used for official conversations. Therefore it is a good medium to use after getting leads and convert them into conversions.

Social media is a type of casual platform where customer loves to interact.

Both are important but it depends on your requirement how to use any of these.

Prioritize building your list, but do both.
    1. depends on your industry
    2. Not sure.. but it's much easier to show an ROI for email marketing.. and doing that makes it easier to get/keep a job and to get a raise
    3. Email has a much higher ROI. I'd prioritize that if you're learning.

I'd add that in this day and age, sure helps to do social media marketing too. Boost engagement. Drive site traffic. Bond with power brokers. But make list building the priority, and add social.

Social media marketing is a very powerful tool to build credibility and even traffic. This traffic can build you a list. Now this list is where you build a relationship with that list. Hope this makes sense.

Well, I would think that what's more effective would depend on the person
doing the marketing. For example, if a marketer is a facebook fanatic, then
they are going to be constantly engaging with their audience. Some people
like the visual aspect of "seeing" the people they chat with. For this person,
social media would be more effective because they naturally spend more
    time doing it.
