Podcasters: How do you monetize your shows?

I've been tooling around with podcasting and I like the growth rate

I'm looking ahead to monetization options and would like to know how other podcasters here monetize their shows

Do you use Patreon? Do you just plug your books in the show? Discount codes? Any other options?

Thanks in advance

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Sponsorship, affiliate links in description/transcript, promotional messages if you have your own product, and basically everything else that's in the list in the link below.

Check out Smart Passive Income, EoFire and Problogger for ideas to grow and monetize podcast (yes they have very popular podcasts).

    Some other ideas?

Well, can't think of anything right now but a podcast is a great way of applying to people who learn more through listening, so keep producing podcast episodes.

It's great that you're doing it, many lack the courage to speak into microphones and publish on the Internet.

    Regards,

    Karl

    They usually sell ad space/time.

One easy way is to sell through the show itself. Sometimes we think of specific ways of monetizing only related to podcasts, specifically. Sell you products and services through the podcasts with a call to action at the end of the show, then add in other methods like sponsorships and the like, as you grow your following. MSI all the way.

      Thanks for these tips.

I was thinking of maybe getting a deal with sponsors so they give out DISCOUNTS through my show.

I build out the membership of the show and the sponsor benefits and the listener gets a reward for showing up to listen. Triple win.

I don't listen to many podcasts, but Tim Ferriss' podcast got me hooked on Audible.com and I've been a client ever since. "This show has been sponsored by Audible.com bla bla + free trial as a benefit", as if only Tim's listeners get the free trial. I fell for it and went ahead and subscribed, without even checking if it's true or not, that's how well it worked for me.
