URGENT: Launch A Website OR Publish My E-book? Help Me Decide!

Hi,

I have very limited money to spend and I can do only one of these.

I wrote an e-book and will upload it on clickbank - I still have to make a sales page and a thank you page. But I feel that unless I have big bucks and heavily promote my product, it'll be last on the list and why would an affiliate want to promote it? I could promote it on my social media pages. But I doubt it would generate as many sales.

OR

Launch a website and place advertisements on it. I can get it around 10,000 visitors per day through social media. But people from WF are saying that it makes you pennies... :/

Which idea is better and has less chances of failure?

Thanks!!

You can save money on promotions by doing manual outreach to blogs that reviewed products similar to yours

Remember: you don't have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to your promotional efforts

You've talked about your limited funds, do you have the $49 for the Clickbank fee? If not, you'll have to find another way to sell your ebook.

I'll manage it. I'll take funds from my savings. My only concern is.. Without exposure will my e-book even sell on clickbank? It'll be probably last on the list.

Why not just create a product in Gumroad and put it on your Facebook page or listed in another tab on your Facebook page?

Then you can write additional posts and content that you can run some ads to.

Clickbank as Mark mentioned has a listing fee and you are not always guaranteed of getting listed and even if you do get listed you need to make several sales with different payment forms before you can begin receiving any payments.

You may make a few sales on CB but if you don't meet the minimum payment threshold you will be charged a monthly admin fee which increases if your account remains inactive. You can easily lose any and all payments you have received.

Don't rely on affiliates to get you sales at first.

You need to promote and be able to sell yourself which is why I suggest the Gumroad route.

Here's an example of one I did years ago as an experiment and it continues to sell without any promotion but every now and then I give it a little nudge--->

That is a low cost way to go if you have a paypal account and use gumroad and if you have time and can build a community you can get sales without necessarily paying anything other than the small fee when you sell the book.

    Best regards,

Why can't you do both? I don't see how it would significantly increase your costs. All you're really deciding is whether you're driving traffic via affiliates or social media.

Launch a site for sure Gina. That is content central. You can start a self-hosted blog down the road when you boost your savings, and also do a stronger eBook launch too. Really though; once you network and create value and start building traffic organically, self-publish on Amazon, give it away for free for 1-2 days and you'll access a global market, all for free.

For every success in any field, there are always prices to pay. It is either you buy your way up or you fight your way up. I would advise you to choose one model and put your heart in it day and night and see what comes out of it in 90 days before deciding, Don't always follow what people say. The model some people are saying is not making them money, some people are actually making a killing there.
