You might want to look at VPS hosting or go straight to dedicated if your site is growing quickly.

75k - 100k visitors a month is too many for shared hosting.

I had to jump from shared when my site hit around 30,000 visitors a month, to a VPS.

And then I needed to move again, to a dedicated server when it hit 250,000 - 500,000 visitors a month.

A lot of this stuff really comes down to the resources you're using - shared hosting can't deliver the resources your site needs because it's spread across hundreds of other sites.

If your site is run on Wordpress and you've got a bunch of plugins installed, then it's gonna need a fairly high amount of resources. If it's a static HTML site then it'll use a lot less.

With VPS, you're still sharing resources with other sites but you're guaranteed a specific amount of RAM and a specific number of cores.

Before you jump ship ask Hostgator what kind of resources your site is using, find out how much RAM you need and the number of cores. Most likely you won't need that much, just a guaranteed slice.

If you only have static files I would recommend AWS Cloudfront because you only have to pay for the traffic. If you have dynamic content you need a server to run the server side code. This can be on shared host or a VPS. As you can see shared hosting has limitations. It can be still ok if you can generate static content and upload it to AWS so your shared host won't get any traffic.

Dang I have Host Gator I hope I don't have that problem, I don't even knowhow to see how manypeople see my site a month, I don't really care though I just want to see the money roll in on clickbank... I don't even know how I got my site started I can't even imagine switching hosting companies that sounds scary, you can't upgrade in HostGator to a more powerful plan or something? 500k visitors a month? Are you making millions or what?

Wait, John Chow uses Host Gator and he gets over 250k visitors a month, probably way more than that... 20 visitors and it crashes? That doesn't sound right...
