Mobile Marketing With Admob?

Just wondering how many people are using Admob for mobile advertising and if you are getting good results or a big fat donut for your efforts?

Many impressions, but extremely few clicks.

same as the others...plenty of impressions and stuff, not many clicks and very few conversions.

but on the other side, traffic is dirt cheap

      Marian,
Traffic is dirt cheap but if it doesn't convert then it means nothing. I think that the issue is with targeting our offers to the right buyers in the correct geographic areas. You also have to make sure that your offers are valid in other countries if you are targeting them.

It seems we all have similar results. Lots of impressions and "donut for conversions! I am trying some CPA offers at the moment but still no conversions. At the moment I have 22561 impressions 93 clicks and nada sales. This is for CPA where people are only giving out name and email as well. You would think it would convert better.

The deal is that from surveys it seems that already mobile browsers don't click on ads nearly as much as "regular" browsers.

2nd, you have to think what are they interested in...what age are they etc...

Its not the same thing as "regular" advertising

The NY Times says (10/5) that Google is working on display ads specially for smartphones.

Anyone had any luck with Adsense for Mobile?

Lord oh lord, you people have no idea how crappy admob is.
Their support STINKS first of all and secondly...your money will get blown faster than you can buy ebooks on clickbank. I'm telling you.

I ran a text ad and a video ad at the same time. I blew through $500 in 4 hours like it was nothing. I got hundreds of thousands of impressions. On one ad I got a THOUSAND clicks. Not ONE of those clicks converted. Keep in mind that the site was optimized for blackberry and iphones and the offer was geared towards the youth. Hell, I even ran ringtone and all kinds of cool stuff.

Admob is disgustingly ineffective. SAVE your money. Rather do Adwords, Yahoo! or MSN paid search.

    Just my 2cents.

    Cheers,

Absolutely correct I lost $150 in seconds that was enough for me.

      Don't touch it.

Yes, many unhappy Admob advertisers on this forum, that's for sure.

    Questions -

On the advertiser side, have you tried AdWords for Mobile? Did it work any better than Admob?

On the publisher side, has anyone used AdSense for Mobile? I couldn't get it to work, but wanted to see if anyone is making any good money from it.

    Hey Mannex

I'm sure anything where adwords or adsense goes it is bound te be 100x more effective than admob. At least you have control over your funds when dealing with Google. Admob just sucks you dry instantly.
